One of the best was my first Christmas in England. We were newlyweds, had very little money and no prospects. We went to the woods and cut down a very small (3 ft) tree and brought it home. I made decorations with poster board, paint, string, ribbons and glitter. I bought enough flour and butter to make a batch of homemade bread and we heated two slices of turkey from the butcher shop and I made macaroni and cheese and a green salad. I was introduced to 'It's A Wonderful Life" and we made afire in our fireplace, drank tea and had our meal. We exchanged homemade gifts and that afternoon it snowed for the first time of the season and a winter rose bloomed in our front garden. It was very romantic and nostalgic.

I got moved to this foster home (one of many) when I was 15. Up until that time, I really didn't get the picture...Didnt know that people get presents, or drank cocoa, or watched christmas lights. anyway, when moving into chris' house (foster brother) the whole family experience was shown to me...they actually made me feel like I was part of the family...It was my first christmas experience...I look back on it every christmas and am really thankful that someone showed me what christmas is all about.

My folks made every Christmas wonderful but the one that stands out is about ten years ago. We had just moved to Indiana and it was snowing very hard. My son had a girl he had just met over and since we were all stuck in the house we really got to know each other. They are married now and we have three beauitful grand daughters. My husband and I are back home in Arizona and they stayed in Indy but that year will always be special to me.

There have been many amazing Christmas holidays, but the one I always love to remember happened about 4 years ago. Everything was just perfect and it snowed on Christmas Day during our family dinner, it was magical.

I've had some nice one's when I was a child. And a couple since but not that many to mention. I hope to have some even better ones whenever I start my own family someday.
