ok i have no idea what to get my dad for x mass... he likes golf. the whore cigar thing ..but me and my sisters have already gotten alot of golf and cigar things ..i need somthign new anf different ...any ideas.....

So I have NEVER been in the same kitchen before with my mother-in-law and THIS Thanksgiving she asked ME to help HER!
Any suggestion's? What should I cook? Should I bring something extra? We will be cooking for 7ppl. Thanks!!

BTW....I will be baking a pumpkin cranberry nut bread for breakfast (but that's cooking from MY kitchen and NOT in front of her,I know I shouldn't be intimidated (especially after 10yrs) but like I said it's my first Thanksgiving cooking WITH/BESIDE her)

Which is the reason why i have put it in this catagory
people were saying that Thanks giving was brought to America with the Pilgrims . Am i right thinking Pilgrims were very strict religious people like Quakers


Is it because of having very strong religious roots that so many American people seem to be much more outwardly religious than people in Europe ?


by outwardly i mean in England it`s a lot less apparent if a person is a christian or not,. or am i thinking this way because of things i read on this site.

My 18th birthday is in september and i want to do something quite big, and with lots of alcohol lol, but pretty much all my friends will still be 17...so i guess that rules out hiring pub/club.

My BF and i are debating over the tree, the facts are as follows:

1) I spent £50 on a pretty fiber-optic tree
2) BF says it is far too early to display it
3) I compromised by suggesting Dec 1st
4) He says this is still too early and that 2 weeks before Christmas Day is appropriate
5) House is mine and he doesn't live here!
