If you're up to shopping really early in the morning the day after Thanksgiving, I have a great tip. I did this for the first time last year and I got some fabulous deals. Look through all those ads in the paper on Thanksgiving day for the earlybird specials. Check the different ads for the best price on the items you want and circle them. Do not pick anything from the WalMart ad. Go to WalMart around 4am with all your ads in hand (most of the sales start at 5am). WalMart will match the price in any competitor's ad, so just find the items and take your ads with you to the checkout right at 5am when the sales start (you have to purchase the items during the time period they are on sale in the ad you are using). There will be huge lines of people waiting for the WalMart sale items, but the rest of the store is almost empty. If you get to the register right at 5am, you will beat the crowd of people who are then just getting handed their items that they have been waiting in line for hours for. I found dozens of checkers just standing in front of their registers waiting.

I shop all year, keep a record book of what I got who and have it all done by october. I have a designated area in the house where I store these gifts. When I did have a younger child in the house I simply wrapped as soon as I purchased the item so there was no "finding" the gifts before their time.
I have no stress nor financial problems during the holidays for I refuse to have any!!
My husband and I go out to the stores the week before Christmas to have a good laugh at all the morons still doing their shopping !!! It is hilarious, people running around all frantic over a simple holiday that should by all rights be enjoyed not dreaded!
I spend only about $15 or so for the gifts I give and I give each person numerous ones. I just have a knack of finding the deals throughout the year. Paying pennies for something that generally cost hundreds is my best find. Those deals are out there, you just have to be looking all year to find them! An example would be after Christmas when the winter coats go on sale... instead of paying $100 or more I have got them for only $5. Do people see that they are last years coat when I give them to them the next Christmas ? NO ! I have jackets and coats that I bought many years ago and I still wear them today so why would it matter!!!
All in all only YOU can make your holiday stress free. Do not sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things!!!

oh yes yes. Shop earlier in the morning. Some stores offer sales to the early birds. The day after Thanksgiving stores usually open earlier and have great sales and deals. Being a retailer myself....i've seen how crazy it can get and from experience as a shopper too....don't wait until the week before. That's the worst time to shop (as far as grumpy/desperate shoppers go) :) hope that helps :) :)

Go EARLY in the morning or late at night. Most stores have different hours during this time, so call ahead and find that out. I also find that online shopping is great if you know exactly what you want to buy. You pay a little bit extra for shipping, but it's worth it!

The professionals are DONE with their shopping.
The newbie husbands are not aware it Christmas time yet.
Wonderful time of year these next 35 days 10 hours.
(Yes, there's a countdown clock on KOIT 96.5 FM radio web site, here in SF bay area - and they're playing Christmas songs!)
Stay focused and have a list is all I remember before my divorce.
