I was wondering on the day after thanksgiving thing, is it really that special? All the stores and stuff are opening at 5am, and really do have some friggen amazing deals. My question is does it make any difference if I go in at 5 versus strolling it at 9?

you bet it does. if they have something at a great price its not going to to last to 5:30. We wait in line every year and get amazing deals. I already know who has what so i know where I'm going. i make a list of what store i want what from and who opens at what time some time s i get lucky and the other store i want to go to doest open till 7. so make both before the items gone. I don't know where you live but here is a link to the black Friday sales. so you can see ahead of time whats on sale before the ads come out on thursday

It really depends where you go and who you are buying for. I only started doing the early morning shopping four years ago and I buy only for myself. I buy clothing for the year. The deals are very very good and I am done by noon. Many other items like electronics can still be found cheaper on the net without any special date to set the price lower. The key element for buying holdiay gifts for others is luck. If you are early you may or may not get a deal. You will get the products but sometimes a better deal comes right before or after xmas.

I personally love them. I started going about 5 years ago, and now I would not miss it. It will be very crowded and some people will be going crazy. I don't kill myself, I try to get what I want the best I can. If you want to get a pre-guide to what is on sale go to blackfriday.com.
