If it makes them happy put them up.
When they are older and dont care you will be glad you did.

OMG no way! I think the sooner they go up the longer you get to enjoy them. My kids love all the decorations. We also love to go for a drive and look at all the great lights and displays. Not to mention all the hard work that goes into it. I have always put up decorations on the day of the Santa Claus parade since I was a little girl. The Santa Claus parade is also always later nowadays too. Merry Christmas!!!

wait till the first day of Advent. We put up all our decorations then except for the decoration on the tree. We do that as a family on Christmas Eve. And Mary and Joseph Travel through our house and make it to there destination under our tree in the manger on Christmas eve. Then we put baby Jesus in there Christmas morning and the wise men come 12 days later. I love family traditions!

Around the first week in December. Some people put up Christmas decorations right after Thanksgiving (Nov.23).

I wait until the first weekend in december, but I can see my neighbor's christmas tree on through my window. It depends on when you think it should go up. I like to wait until after thanksgiving cause i have a 3 day weekend to do that stuff. My neighbors do it early because they are old and put up a Christmas village that takes up half their living room and it takes them a while. (it is amazingly done though)

Well I am putting my decorations up the day before Thanksgiving. I think as long as it is either after or a day or two before Thanksgiving it is ok! :)

I usually wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving, but it is a personal preference. My neighbor has had his Christmas lights up since last week...
(It would probably be something the kids would enjoy helping with.)

you can put up decorations when ever you want. some wait till the day after Thanksgiving, some the last day of the month. so you can do what ever you want, there is not rule that say when is to early. i my self put mine up after thanks giving so that the Thanksgiving is remembers for it true meaning and not confused with Christmas.

Thats something only you can decide there is no rule of when you can start to put them up. It seems like this year though that many stores are putting the Christmas stuff up earlier than usual.

My decorations go up 12 days before Christmas, and not a day sooner, and they always come down 12 days after.
I would love to know why people put up trees and decs.,so early.I must admit, most do look nice, but i think the Christmas period is too commercialised as it is without having all the trimmings and paraphernalia in your face.
