Lottery tickets.
Dollar bills.
Five dollar bills.
Ten dollar bills.
Avoid loose change unless you tape it to the card.
DO NOT GIVE gift cards. They either force the person by some trinket in an over price store, or sort through the after Christmas junk. If they save them until the Spring than they will be worth less due to fees.

Buy cute tins or jars and make them a special treat. Or buy Christmas tree ornaments for each and try to personalize them for each person--i.e. if your friends and family are partial to particular cartoon characters or films, buy them a tree ornament of that character. or make them a small stocking full of treats. other cheap items: body lotion, books, inexpensive jewelry, book marks, picture frames, photo albums, candles, ties, etc. Have a great Christmas!

If any of them are little kids then those Ty Beanie Babies are great. Female adults a live plant...not a poinsettia. Male adults...a nice can of cashews. Teens and older kids...a cool t-shirt.
