We are planning to travel to New York City for New Year's 2007. We would like to view the ball drop but have a reserved place (ex. Hotel, Restaurant, Bar, Park) so we don't have to stand in Time Square all day.

What is a fun way for a couple to spend New Year's Eve? We're trying to make plans for this coming New Year's Eve but aren't sure what we want to do... any ideas? We are ages 26 and 22 and live near Grand Rapids, MI, but are interested in traveling to Chicago, NY, or maybe Vegas? or anywhere else?

We have the threat of global terrorism,we have civil unrest, wild dangerous animals, killer storms, earthquakes etc etc all over the world.
So bearing all these factors in mind where do you consider to be the safest country in the world right now and why ?

He was a mercenary, who never set foot on US ground. He & his men raped and pillaged the places he did visit. If the natives did not bring him enough gold, he would have their hands cut off or just execute them. He decimated the Arawack people, however the Caribs put up some resistance. Between murder & disease he started the worst genocide the world has known. Over 90 million native people died in the 1st 100 years after his arrival

My husband and I are relocating and this move along with being in a wedding this year is going to cost ALOT of money which we are saving but as a result we will not have any money left to give presents expect to eachother. What is a kind way to tell our relatives we will not be exchanging gifts. I realize Jesus is the reason for Christmas but people tend to expect a gift, what are ways to deal with this I will be having a Christmas get together as well as giving very nice cards with thoughtful sayings. This will be the first year that we will not be doing gifts. How can we say this nicely but firmly we dont expect gifts in return I am in my late 30s and my husband is in his 40s.

Thank you and God bless you.

I'm doing some early online Christmas shopping. He doesn't really have any hobbies, except for reading and playing computer games. A couple of his favorite games are Morrowind, Runescape, and AdventureQuest, if that gives you an idea. He loves books, and he'll read just about anything. But he switches interests a lot. A lot of my past gifts were discarded a month or two later because he lost interest. I'm stumped!

To me it has really cool Halloween music. It is just so different. Some people like it. Other's don't. It seems perfect to listen to the music when I am on Pogo playing Spooky Slots.

Mine is where I was living with my roomate who was like a mom to me and it was cold and it didn't seem as though the furnace was on. So I went downstairs to fill the thing up with water, I left and went back upstairs. I never turned it back off. So water went flying everywhere out of the furnaces. All over the Christmas tree, my friend's daughter 's new leather coat that was for Christmas. The rugs were soaked.

Omg, I was so embarrassed. I thought I had freaking ruined Christmas for everyone, My roommate said hey crap happens.Nothing really got ruined and we caught it in time.
Still I felt like an asss.

So anything happened to make you never forget a particular Christmas Eve? Good, bad, awesome, the worse?
