If you read this little article then it would appear that Japan is the safest country in which to live.
However they still have earthquakes and extreme wether hazzards,so this would be offset against violent crime !

The South Pole is not the safest because of extreme cold weather, avalanches, and crevasses. Island countries aren't safe either like Bahamas or Costa Rica because of the Tsunami threats. Canada isn't safe because of the open immigration policies which let in terrorist. The safest country is actually in Scandinavia and it's Finland. Finland is the safest country in the world according to a recent report by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and International Institute of Management Development (IMD). Finland will probably soon be labeled Funland because it's the safest.

That would be the United Nation of Nowhereistan. Not only are the people friendly, they don't even really exist. The economy is always booming and there are no politicians or lawyers!

It seems that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, until you jump over. Then you may realize that that there are weeds and brown patches and those stupid little rocks that you trip over.

The good ole U.S.A., although it may seem that we are in a turmoil, all the time, is still home to me. It's good to be home.

I have to say that I COMPLETELY disagree with Jewish Girl. Nigeria seems completely safe to me. Although it has had a few bad presidents, but all presidents make mistakes. I think that the countries included in the war in Lebanon and Isreal, and the one in Iraq are the ones that are not safe, especially because of Osama Bin Laden. Canada to me seems safe, even though it is included in war, it is a very big country and I don't really know that much people that say that they hate Canada.

Is there one? Despite everything I still consider the UK to be one of the safest places on earth to live. Though no doubt many will disagree.

Why do I think this? Well we don't have the type of storms and earthquakes other countries get. And though the good reputation of the police has wained somewhat since the tragic shooting of a young Brazilian man living and working in London (it should never have happened and hopefully it will never happen again), the police and security services still do a good job of looking after us all and keeping us safe from terrorists intent on causing carnage to the British public.

It does not matter where you live in the world. There is an unguarded moment every day where anything can happen. This is why it is of vital importance that we live everyday as if it is the last. Today we have tomorrow is promised but not given.

i always think of denmark, sweden, iceland, and japan as being the safest countries and colombia, nigeria, the u.s., israel, and iraq as the most unsafe.

my family moved to canada when i was younger for the freedom and safety and it IS pretty safe but over the years as its getting more americanized and so the crime rate is going up.

I like New Zealand and Australia (the Outback). That's where my husband and I will be moving to if Hillary Clinton actually gets the presidency next go around.
