I had jury duty and put my purse through the x-ray machine at the courthouse. On the way home I needed a scissors from my Swiss Army Knife, and it was still in my purse.

My husband got on an airplane after the security check, with a fire cracker in his pocket. It was the 4th of July week.

I recieved the Holiday Herrington catalog and was surprised to see the "Runaway alarm clock that runs and hides to make sure you get out of bed!" Is this something that someone you know could use?

But I found another way to do the same thing with my laptop. Every picture on my hard drive shuffles, fades and appears for about 5 seconds each. The slide show starts after a period of idle time.

Go to your CONTROL PANEL
Click APPEARANCE & THEMES
Then DISPLAY
Then SCREEN SAVER
Under Screen Saver click on the other SCREEN SAVER
Under that click MY PICTURE SLIDE SHOW
Go through the rest of the buttons WAIT 5 (seconds)
Go into MY PICTURES SCREEN SAVER OPTIONS
You want it to fill the screen LARGER 100%
Check box USE TRANSITION
Check box ALLOW SCROLLING
Fill in the other boxes and SAVE!

I hope that satisfies your need, if Santa doesn't bring you a digital picture frame!

Have you collected holiday and Christmas dishes over the years, or have dishes handed down that are a holiday tradition?
I have a part of a set that belonged to my mother, roses with gold trim, that I use for special intimate meals.
For my big meals, I have a set of Amberstone and another set of Marcrest that I have been collecting for 40 years. I have enough to serve about 30 people! If my house would hold them! I usually augment them with Christmas and holly serving pieces, and pressed glass dessert dishes.

I have had the most awful day. Firstly I was told that my ex Mother in law is about to die in hospital (never did like her but she is my kids Grandma and they are upset) then my friend gave birth to a lovely little boy while I was away and I was supposed to be her birth partner but I missed it and I was SO looking forward to it. Then my daughter-in-laws Mum who is lovely had to have a radical mastectomy today. To top it all I had a big "difference of opinion" with a manager at work in the hospital. I think I will go into hibernation.

It's icy!!! I f I'm not mistaking it's one of the most popular asked questions in the world!!!!

Now please don't jump to the conclusion that I have no sympathy or compassion. I do and I feel very badly for people in that situation. But all my life I have lived conservatively and did not buy something - house or otherwise - that I could not afford. I'm retired now, I still live conservatively and l still pay income taxes.

I don't like the idea that my taxes might be used to rescue people who made reckless decisions or commitments and borrowed more money than they could afford to pay back. No one held a pistol to anyones head and demanded that they sign those papers. They simply wanted more house than they could afford.

I feel the same about people who made bad investment decisions and then expected the government to bail them out. If the loss was due to fraud (Enron, Worldcom, etc), that's a different matter but if its just a question of greed overcoming common sense, should I be expected to make them whole again.

Am I all out of the milk of human kindness.

It is my understanding that many seniors are left alone without family and friends and consequently are lonesome and thus commit suicide.

And I'm sure it will happen again.
Last week each time I would post
I would get a violation & question removed.
So if I just answer everyone will know the reason.
And it was in the Seniors thread.
I closed my answers and questions and took all the percautions...
May I note...I really enjoyed asking different questions and all seemed to like my questions.

Someone was going to cut its head off and get it ready to cook, and I just could not look.
What does that mean, good or bad, I have never dreamt about a fish before. My friend said it means something fishy is going on,
but she can't read dreams, and talks rubbish.

i disagree if one keeps practicing but he is doing it wrong the only thing he will make perfect is an inperfect task now on the other hand if we was to say

A friend of mine wants to sell my house as she tells me it's too large for a single person. We talked about it on Friday and today (Monday) she turned up on my doorstep, with an estate agent.
She says it's for my own good and that I will be far better off in a small flat, but I am really happy living here in the countryside. Now she is telling me that I am just being selfish and difficult. She has helped me a lot after my brother died three years ago.
I feel she is taking over my life and as I am alone I need your good opinion?

I am always late on the new techie things. I know these have been around a few years. We thought they would be nice presents for great Grandmas. Even the ones without computers. What do you think? They are expensive by moderate standards. Would you buy one for yourself or like it for a gift?
