I would have to say Ms. McCoola, one of my high school business teachers. She was a real lady, dressed and acted like one, taught us integrity in the workplace, how to value ourselves, etc. She insisted we do the best we could do and she was always available if we wanted to talk. How about you?

Watched "The Sands of Iwo Jima" over the weekend. To any of our seniors, especially the males - were you there? Do you have a story from the war that you'd like to share?

I've never been in that position, but of course I would if it would save a life. If somehow I lost my life, well I know where I'd be going so that would be fine.

My friend gave her youngest brother a kidney several years ago. It saved his life, but he never changed his lifestyle -still drinks too much - and she's become very bitter over it. I just can't get her past that. I've even reminded her that God tells us we're to forgive, and her response is that she knows she has to forgive, but God didn't say when we had to forgive. Sigh. She can be a challenge, but I love her.

So, would you give up a body part for someone with no strings attached?

My partner and I have just moved to France to retire, After a life time of working I have waited for this moment, fishing, writing, painting, generally loafing around. Since we came here 1 year ago I have built a new kitchen, redecorated 3 of the 5 bedrooms, built furniture, built a dining room re floored 6 rooms, I am tired out. When I mentioned painting to my partner, bless her, she bought me a 5 litre tub of emulsion and a new roller. Do other retired menfolk have this problem?

p.s. Wouldn't change her for anything...well maybe a new car

Since retiring, I love to go to the Post Office and get the newest stamps! I got the comic book characters and the birds. I think it is so neat. I think Jimmy Stewart stamps are out now. I still have Ella Fitzgerald, Arthur Ashe, and a 37 cent Elvis stamp.

Is there something you know you have to do, just have to do it, but don't like doing it and put it off time and time again, even if it upsets someone in your life?

There is an email flying around the 'net asking that everyone display a flag somewhere on that day. (The email states Monday, September 11th, but the 11th is Tuesday). So, will you display a flag? We should never forget.

If you live in the Carolinas or travel there often I need more info. I am looking for small towns, not tourist attractions. My husband and I love to deep sea fish and enjoy some country living as well. We are looking for the best of both worlds. The Carolinas sound like a beautiful place. We don't need to be dirrectly on the ocean, but close by. Within 45 minutes to the sea:~)

I wish Bush could do the same for our troops. Do you think the the people in Iraq will ever take over and govern their country before Bush leaves office?

One can only hope that some good comes out of this conflict.

How about These Boots are Made for Walkin? Do you remember these old songs and do you know who sang them.
I know when I was a little girl, I was always singing What's new Pussy Cat, in these days that would be considered not proper. You and your pussy cat eyes wowo
See what I mean, they **** out the word Pussy!!
I hope you can understand what I'm asking here.

I find it somewhat disturbing that some people at high school and college events are so preoccupied during the flag raising and anthem. I think patriotism has gone the way of religion in the classrooms.

I was at a recent event when an honored congressman was busy fanning himself and adjusting his clothing during the anthem. He will not get my vote!!

I was pleased to see the passage of OK Sen Inhofe.s bill that allows veterans and servicemen out of uniform to salute the flag.
