I resemble that remark at times. lol
It has been hard for me at 52 to find a job and being single it's starting to worry me. The money is running out.
However it does not stop me from doing things that I enjoy. Yesterday I played football with my daughter's family and had a great time, except I sprained or broke the tip of a finger while catching the ball. It's bruised and swollen but doesn't hurt so I will tough it out.
You are right, when I begin worrying about what I should do about a job, who should I live nearest . My single daughter with 2 children or 100 miles away near my ageing parents, I do get depressed. Truthfully I think that's what keeps me from pounding the pavement harder to find a job because I don't know which fork in this road to take.
I'm a mess but still having fun doing what I love.

I have been taught a very wise saying, and I believe it comes from the AA prayer." Let me change what I can, and accept what I cannot change." It often gives great consolence when we hit obsticles we cannot get around. Becoming depressed over things we cannot change is futile, destructive, and so very harmful to our health. Peace, Goldwing

I agree with you. I work on my Yahoo 360 blog daily, concerning Dementia/Alzheimer's, Caregivers and other issues I feel are important.
I am always looking for information and I post in on my blog.
I am not a writer/journalist. I am not in a position to volunteer. I cannot send a lot of money to these Wonderful Organizations who are doing the research and sending out information to help people understand the Disease.
But " I can" help circulate the information.

Yes, very much so but we should have goals to reach for also. and Most of us have great minds and we could do a lot of good by changes that need to happen in America {we have the computer and the brain power and the history of what works}

Very true. When we work my friend Glenn does what he can, and so does Russell. We don't expect them to get on the roof, but they help on the ground, and answer questions and throw us water. They do what they can. Same as the single mom's outreach, I was offered an easy job, but I declined. I said maybe next time, as I will do this as I can. I will graduate to easier as time goes on.. kind of like earning it!

I don't focus on myself and I am constantly learning new things. I found it works to abey depression. I keep busy, the things I can't do have been replaced by things I can do.
