I'm not envious. I recognize that the British sector of operations was in a place once called the Kingdom of Basra and is the home of mostly Shia Muslims, who constitute a majority of those who live in Iraq. They were also the focus of a lot of hatred and armed attacks by Hussein and the Ba'athist regime. These are the very folk, the "marsh Arabs", the UN had protected with the establishment of a "no-fly zone" after the conclusion of the UN Peace Enforcement Mission of 1991.
Now that the Sunni tribal sheiks of Al-Anbar Province in the western part of Iraq have decided to cast their lot with the coalition forces and engage in the job of fighting Al Queda in that province, the need for armed forces from outside will diminish. So, will the need in Baghdad and its environs. The Muslims of Iraq, and the other nations of the Islamic Crescent as well, have come to recognize the danger posed by Al Queda and its off-shoots. The terrorists practice "Takfir", which says it's O.K., in conducting Jihad, for Muslim to kill Muslim. Takfir is an "Harram" (offense against the Koran) and it is finally being condemned and resisted.
Those in the U.S. who worry about the wobbly state of post-Hussein democracy in Iraq have never looked at how we fared in the first ten years after independence was achieved from Great Britain. It wasn't peace, love and prosperity. That's why we had to develop and ratify a new charter of government called the Constitution.

No envious, just happy for them.
Our troops are being sent home as well, just not all at once.
No, I do not believe Iraq is capable of taking over their own country. They never have been and never will be. I just try to remember the reason we are over there. The troops trust the President and we are not shown that on TV either.
Some good will come out of all of this, I have to believe that. I have family members over there which gives me a little bit more knowledge of the whole situation then those who have no one there.
I can only hope some good comes out of this as well. The Iraqi citizens do not dislike the Americans as it is being portrayed on TV. They like them and are making friends with them. That is one good thing.
P.S. After submitting my answer an reading the other answers, Desert Viking is right on the money. He deserves best answer and I applaud him.

You KNOW that you're going to get some folks who don't share your same point of view, don't you? Like me.
I'm terrified that the troops will be brought back before the country is self-reliant and that Iran or Syria or whoever will not only go in and destroy any good we might have done, but will see our withdrawal as weakness and will once more strike the United States, fully believing that we don't have the guts or the stamina to fight back for any length of time.

I could never be envious of any son or daughter having the chance to go home and be safe with his mother and family.
I'm not clever enough to discuss the politics of it all, I just know I want to see an end to all wars and conflicts.

I used to think that the only reason we are in this war is for oil. I talked to a Dr. the other day who is Seek. He says, "This is the greatest country in the world man, other countries should be allowed to live like we do... but some are Barbaric." They may take awhile. I pray about it because I will never know the answer on my own.

We've been there 4 1/2 years and the Iraqi government still doesn't have what it takes. I hope and pray that this horrific war is over soon. I want my nephew home with his family!

I do want the American military to come home when they have finished their job. Not because of some underhand political shenanigans or fickle commitments.
Just like the Americans soldiers, the Brits on the ground have done what was ask of them. I salute them all.

I'm not envious of that fact. I'm happy for them & their families & loved ones who have waited for this day for a very long time. I'm sure they will be happy for us when our troops come home, & I hope it'll be soon.
