The more I read some of the posts throughout Y!A, the more shallow I think a lot of the people are, criticizing others on appearances alone.

What will happen when gravity strikes and a body is no longer something to admire but something to keep healthy?

And a mind is no longer a playground but a source of wisdom?

After reading the question regarding Goldwing's loss, I've once again been reminded that we shouldn't fear death, it's a transition. In our culture, the majority of people do but I have to wonder, are "souls" worried and scared before they come into this world? I doubt it. Knowing that every living thing on this earth is temporary and moves on, makes me realize our time here is short and should be savored.
I don't care if you don't agree with me, I'm just curious how other people perceive death.

Dear Goldwing, Happy Birthday.
Please accept my condolences as well.

I know it is not easy to face the fact of losing our close friend.
My husband left me in a sudden, his last word was just : "I am blacked out "; and that's it.
I could not cry for days until I really realized that he was gone and allready burried.

Your friend has no more pain Goldwing.
He doesn't have to struggle for his life anymore Goldwing.

It is pain, sad and sorrow for us who left behind, but it must be better for him.
You told me we have to be strong, remember? The world still go on. Yes Goldwing I understand how you feel.
Be strong, OK.

You still have us here, share with us as usual, I know you are strong.

My friends here in this section, would you pls share with me here to accompany Goldwing??
Can you say something better than I can for Goldwing??
I am not English, my vocabularly is poor, you all can do much better than me , thanks.
Please be strong Goldwing. Salaam.

I am a single senior citizen looking for a group to meet to make friends and have fun. I live in Kansas City, MO, north of the river. I don't have a lot of money for trips or expensive excursions.

Ok, slowly but surely...I found the web-site for this great information.
In searching I found information about the 1600's and 1700's and more. I find this sort of information very interesting. I hope you do too.

I've noticed a momement to refer to those over 50 and under 60 as "boomers" because they seem turned off by the term "senior"...yet some of those people have no problem with accepting the "senior discount" in stores? Any ideas behind this sort of mentality? I'm 46, not a senior or technically a full on "boomer" yet.

Assuming that health wasn't a factor-do you wish you had retired sooner, waited longer, or was the time right for you.
I ahve my time in for a half pay pension-I can stay 4 more years and get 2/3 pay, but I'm not sure which way to go.

I found an imitation, old fashioned one in a catalog that looks like it is out of the 1800s. Unfortunately, it does not chime. What type of clocks are your favorites? What style - modern or vintage?

We had a light green, weave-like like hanging in the living room. In the 1960s, we had a pole lamp. Very popular then. Perhaps they are coming back.

This was because of multiple medical issues that could no longer be completly taken care of in the home , even with nurses coming in and becoming more unstable mentaly to the point afraid of leaving alone for more than very brief periods of time. But can still carry on conversations and aware of surroundings and what is going on -most of time....memory really failing and electric wheel chair bound....appreciates seeing family members and knows everyone still - but seems to run out of anything to say or talk about that is not connected to medical issues or his care or the meals and staff - or what he might want or need - in about 10 minutes....and then what the %$@& do you say ?
Do talk about G. kids and his dogs and weather and how many times yard mowed this year and serviced the car..and political carnival going on ....but..lots of " I don`t remember/ what are you talking about" happening more often now....
Would appreciate thoughts from both women and men please ?
