Oh yes, and we'll take all our money with us too, then what would you do ? Seems its OK for you to talk to people any way you like (eg: your question) but we're supposed to be invisible, silent and humble ? You ignorant girl. And what do you mean "no offence"? Plenty of offence, actually.

OMG, I can't believe you'd even post such a question!!
First of all. did your parents not teach you to respect your elders?
To answer your question, NO they should NOT be put on a private island!!! If you forget all elderly people were once young & young people will someday be an elder, if they are fortunate enough to live to be of that ripe age & have all the wisdom they do.
I'm sure some elderly people feel that maybe some of this younger generation should be shipped to the moon.
I have taken care of hundreds of elderly people & I am here to tell you if you give them a chance they can enrich your life in many ways. So wise they are & they can tell you some stories of the life they have lived that you would shake your head in amazement & feel blessed that you weren't born in their times.
Please, see them in a different light. You will be in their shoes someday & the way you feel towards them now just may come back to haunt you when you are their age!!!!

If it weren't for the elderly you wouldn't even exist!!!!

No offence? Your question is in fact offensive. Arrogant self important youngsters who have lived off the backs of the older generation irritate me. Thank goodness you are in a minority. On a visit to Canada some years ago I passed an old peoples villiage which semed to be a perfect haven to the elderly. I was not a pensioner then. I described it as a Getto I was told to shut up by my wife who did not want to cause offence but I was suprised how many of all ages said, "Yes you are right!" As a pensioner I still lead an active and I hope useful life I

I find it annoying when a person of ANY age speaks to another person in a disrespectful way. Age isn't a factor. What does this have to do with sending the elderly to an island?

It's so silly and cute the way young people like you think they're never going to get old!

Why are you visiting this island! "No man/woman is an island" Annoying! listen to your self, you are mirroring your own question. No offence taken? Sounds like that is just the pot you want to stir, I think you are on the wrong site if you did not want to be more annoyed! Silly, Silly, girl youth is fleeting, you will not always be young and foolish, you may grow to be old and foolish on the island you propose,
The generation gap did not start with your era! you demean
yourself with your lack of self respect, and respect for human
beings, Thank God my grand childen do not think as you do.
you have a lot of growing up to do and I wish you joy on your journey of life to aging, as you can't go backwards.

Do you want to be shipped to an island when you become a senior citizen? You may answer that you do, but wait until you are one. It's true an elder should be respectful to a younger person. Keep in mind the the old saying. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Soon the older people will out number the young. I just hope they don't decide to ship the young ones to an island.

I am well and truly an elderly person but I can assure those of you who might think otherwise that I do not think I can speak how I like to younger people. Most of my friends are much younger than I am and if I was disrespectful to them I soon would not have any friends, and I do not drive slowly, the fact that I have had my licence for 56 years without any points on it says a bit about my ability to drive I think.

It would have to be a very big island with a lot of perks.

Your elders may be in pain and short on patience. Have a bit of compassion. You will be annoying youngsters soon enough, unless you die young. There is that option. C. :)!!

No offence ... but if you are an elderly person ... don't you find it so annoying when the youngers think that they can speak toy ou anyway they like...it gets on my nerves........

Do you get my point? In case you don't, my point is that no matter what age group you are, you are going to find that another age group does things to annoy you. It's just the way of things and you really need to learn to accept that.

Well, don't you think that all young people should be put on an island far, far away?

No offence... But if you're a person over 40... don't you find it so annoying that young people think that they know everything and that we are just as dumb as dirt?? They seem to think that we have not learnt a damn thing in all the years we have lived. It really gets on my nerves!!

Do you get how insulting your question is?

Why not ask your peers? Perhaps you'd find more who think like you do.

I frankly do not understand your lack of patience and tolerance and your obvious resentment of older people....yes, as a very young person I rankled at being 'talked to' by my elders but it is they who taught me much [even more than my parents] and it is they whose memories live with me today and it is they who gave me a sense of my history and that of the world before there WAS a ME.

IF you are lucky you will become old one day.
