I love the friendliness of the people, the natural beauty of the landscape, the fact that SC preserves greenspace, I can go to the ocean or go to the mountains, enjoy natural waterfalls, I enjoy 4 seasons and mild winters, I absolutely love it here and am grateful that I have chosen this place to live. I live in a city that is so rich historically that sometimes I am awestruck. How about you?

Sure is here for us in this part of coastal GA. Finally got some much needed rain and what a treat it was to wake up to the sound of it! Plus I've had a humming bird entertaining me all morning at the flowers right outside the kitchen window. Hope that you're having a great day too, and that you're finding pleasure in the simple things around us. Enjoy the Labor Day weekend everyone.

Will you please share your thoughts? Thank You!

Think About This One!!! It is short, but very interesting...

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.

A toy company can out source to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.

A shoe company can produce its shoes in Southeast Asia and claim it's a free market

A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.

We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico . We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh . We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different countries.

BUT, heaven help the senior citizens who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Canadian or Mexican pharmacy.

That's called un-American and illegal and our politicians want to stop it!

And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby? Think again!

Today someone brightened my day by e-mailing me a bunch of Maxine cartoons and quips. The one that got me guffawing was this:

"Do you realize that in 40 years we'll have millions of old women running around with tattoos and navel piercings? That's Scary."

Hmm. Crepe paper roses, anyone?

When we married (2nd time for both), we were 42. We stopped by work after the reception to celebrate with our co-workers and friends. The summer intern made some crack about middle-aged people getting married, and our mouths dropped open and we looked at each other and immediately protested: "We're not middle-aged."

We knew we weren't young, but we weren't middle aged yet!

I sometimes think we skipped from just past youth to "omigawd, Mama, what are you doing in my mirror?"

Is there a way that you have found to increase your understanding of people and their motivations?

My boss suggested that I "read a book on it!"

I told him that I had already read two! LOL

What have you done through the years to increase your understanding?

He said, "You are one of the most intelligent men that I know but you have no common sense."

He's right ... at least about the common sense part.

I manage a $5000 a month expense account while on the road. A lot of the procedures are stated but some of them are just grey.

Is the grey procedure defined where the boss defines it?

Yes, Leona Helmsly is the latest - $12 million to her dog, and she cut out two of her grandchildren. So many other people could benefit from that money. What's a dog going to do with $12 million? No wonder people never had a real high opinion of her.

Some of you already know one of my husbands hobbies is to emabarrass me!
He did it again. We've just been to the surgery for his blood test, he couldn't wait to get that over with cos he couldn't eat for the previous 12 hours.
So the nurse is preparing the vials for the blood, and she says to him. " Now you have fasted over night haven't you?"
His reply was, " Certainly not! I've never farted in my life!"
omg! I looked at the nurse's face with horror , and she burst into such laughter she had to wait to take his blood! lol

Are you smiling now?

I'm asking this cos I have been reading all the answers to my last q. I can picture some of those weddings, the romantic ones, the happy stories and memories, the sad ones where some of you have lost your partners after long and happy marriages, the dads that weren't there to give you away.
Anyway, I am sat here with tears in my eyes now cos I feel like I've been to your weddings! Thank you for sharing your stories with us all. I don't know how I am going to choose ba out of them cos they are all deserving.
My question is, why do you think we feel the need to cry at weddings when it is a happy occasion?

That's my tears spent for the day! l feel great now! lol x

They say that to respect others is to respect yourself. Surely there are many reasons why senior citizens are worthy of love and respect. By remembering those reasons our relationships become better. Also there is a deep connection between the acceptance of my past and past experiences and the relationship i have with the seniors around me. So do you love and respect them and why?
