I was just curious, I watched a Wife Swap this past Mon. & the one family kept on saying the other was un-American because they had a more eco-friendly lifestyle. So what is un-American?

and it hurt a lot. I work in a hotel and we were full tonight. An older black couple came in at 4am and asked if we had any rooms. We didn't and I knew that without having to look it up on the computer because I do all of the paperwork for the hotel. Anyways I apologized and explained that we are the only hotel this far west in Omaha and without missing a beat they said they were going to call a lawyer and he would be calling us in the morning because we discriminate. And then they walked out. I for one enjoy making money so I wouldn't turn away any paying customer unless it looked like they were wasted and they were going to trash the place, so why would they just jump to the conclusion that I was discriminating? Is there a mentality that midwest men are racist or something? Our part of town is not predominately white, in fact there are blacks and latinos that work here at the hotel too and I have never come experienced this kind of situation before. What do you think?

What has the world come to? ,90% of the news on tv is about how someone got shot for no reason, how a inocent child gets kidnaped and killed. When will this change?.Global warming will soon fry us to death because us humans are kiling and poluting our natural enviorment. When will peace arrive?. Racism still exists , its 2007 and its yet to see an asian, black, or mexican president. When will we all join , become one, and fix all these issues in our world? when will we relize that if we dont change we are going to extinct man kind because of our selves? I know if ever single person in the world had a postive attitude, changed the way we live and act, the world would be such a better place. And i know everyone in the world has the abilty to make this world a better place before its to late.

My definition of "racism" is saying something inappropriate against one of the three major races of mankind. There are many, many different ethnic, religious, and language groups that claim "racism", but I think that would be a different word unless it is used solely against their "race". By my definition, there can be no "racism" against Muslims or Hispanics because these groups can be made up of any of the three races and be any nationality.

I mean, really. 10,000 years of civilization, most of which NOT founded or worked upon by whites, and *this* is what we have to show for it? We can't cure modern ailments or address things like homelessness, abuse or poverty in the richest nations. But we can be just as pointlessly racist as a middle-ages dirt farmer. Yay us. He's more asian than anything. He's only 25% african american. I am so tired of seeing articles about Tiger being great for young black kids, helping blacks get into the game of golf, a great role model for black children etc. etc. etc. What about the asians? He's also native american and dutch. Can't he just be good for the game of golf period? Can't he just be a good role model for young people period?

Do alot of white people get annoyed when they see a black person who "talks white" (yes, technically there is no such thing but you know what I mean", or "acts white" like wants to be labled an Emo? Themselves by the color of their skin?
I feel that African Americans and Hispanic Americans are keeping racism alive in our country today. Holding on to your ethnic background and Identifying yourself by the color skin are two different things. As long as people identify themseleves by the color of their skin, the are practacing self-segregation. What do you think??

i just don't why people who are the same try to make unnecessary divisions b/w themselves.

ex: everyday there is a question on here about being a light skinned black person and how they are superior. but i don't think these people realize that no matter what dark, light, or in the middle you are all black.

there are so many people doing this and i am just so annoyed, becuase whether you like it or not you are the same and other people don't care. there are small differences, but you are still the same.

i a friend from somalia, who thinks that becuase her tribe is the tribe that is mixed w/ arab that somehow they are better than the rest. but no one cares and to everyone else there are all the same.
why do people insist on making divisions in their own race to show superiority? in the overall scheme of things they are all the same to outside people. so i just don't get why anyone would want to isolate their own people, when other people are already discrimanting against you

Non-asians you may not notice it that well, but asian people loves to talk about other people. Gossips. And yeah the guys gossip, girls even more. Talk bad about other people, and thus make your own face looks brighter (when you see asians hangin out for hours in tea houses they probably talk gossip)

Why is this? Non-asians do you find this thing annoying to you? I know many asians told me that they are really tired of this thing to the point that they dont want to mingle with their own groups anymore.

I am asian and I like my culture but if there is one part of it I really want to crush is this tendency to mess with people's business.

Any opinions? asians and non-asians?
