Non-asians you may not notice it that well, but asian people loves to talk about other people. Gossips. And yeah the guys gossip, girls even more. Talk bad about other people, and thus make your own face looks brighter (when you see asians hangin out for hours in tea houses they probably talk gossip)
Why is this? Non-asians do you find this thing annoying to you? I know many asians told me that they are really tired of this thing to the point that they dont want to mingle with their own groups anymore.
I am asian and I like my culture but if there is one part of it I really want to crush is this tendency to mess with people's business.
Any opinions? asians and non-asians?

I guess most people who answers don't bother trying to see if my statement has even the finest grain of truth (except for CCRIDER). But indeed gossips are meant to be secretive, isnt it. Yes its true every groups do gossip and badmouth others, but if you really have been in a tight-knit asian community (esp. those who are foreign-born) and compare it to other communities then you will know what I mean. For now, I guess I'll leave this topic for another discussion, if ever.

I agree with you, and I wonder.....why Asian people love spread bad rumors about their own people?????? You are pathetic. If you are embarrassed,, just dig a hole and hide in it, instead of making every Asian look bad. Loser.
And what makes you think non-Asians don't talk about other people????

I have not found this to be true. Maybe time for new friends or hang outs. Actually the Asians I know are very intelligent hard workers and devoted family members and dont have a lot of idol time to gossip.

I'm not Asian but from what I've observed, people, ALL people gossip. Ever seen the E! channel? That's all its about it gossip. Or try BET or even ESPN. Everything is about what the latest thing someone is doing. If it wasn't for gossip, no one would care about the 3 slutskateers: Lindsay, Britney & Paris!

Dude, you are 100% right. I find what you'v said very annoying, because I found out that many asian people in my area (especially girls) talk about their other family members and black people like there is no tomorrow (I found this out because I was told how to say "black person" in several asian languages). Don't get me wrong, there are racist black people, but they don't usually say things behind your back. I figured that the gossiping contributed to the competitiveness of the Asian community, making them want to better than everyone else, which can be both good and bad.

All cultures have gossip, and people the scheme and meddle in other peoples affairs. Maybe you should think twice about the people whom you associate with.

Sweet Pea all races do it. It's not just Asians, but its Black's, White's, Hispanic's etc. Some people just don't know how offensive it is. I mean they think it is cool and it's not. I am glad I have heart for all people because if you look on the inside of everyone we have the same thing even though the outside is different. Good luck!

Sorry, but this behavior is not limited to Asians. This is just human nature and has nothing to do with certain cultures. You should see all the white ladies chatting and gossiping about everyone else... and they are doing this at church.

I think you mean Women grossiping . Asian men don't gossip. Actually, men in general don't gossip.
It is mostly the women of any races. I am not sexist. Just my observation.

I never knew that. I've never really talked to someone asian before... ( I live in a small county in the middle of nowhere, and the nearest place to go shopping is 1 hour away, not being racist.)
I hope they are really not like that, cause they rock at manga and anime!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of stereotype is this! Just take a look at the magazine stand in your supermarket; how many of those magazines are badmouthing celebrities? Those journalists don't even personally know them!
Seriously, you can't just say that all black people are loud or all white people are educated! Theres every kind of person in every race.
