Themselves by the color of their skin?
I feel that African Americans and Hispanic Americans are keeping racism alive in our country today. Holding on to your ethnic background and Identifying yourself by the color skin are two different things. As long as people identify themseleves by the color of their skin, the are practacing self-segregation. What do you think??

Wake up America! I really don't want to classify, but African Americans and Hispanic Americans are keeping racism alive in our country today. As long as any ethnic group identifies themselves by the color of their skin, racism is free to roam in the minds of the the ignorant. Stop calling yourselves black and brown, and you will end the cycle of self-segregation. Stop BET and similar programs, and push to start HET (Human entertainment television). If you can hear past the noise known as Jesse Jackson and Louis Farrakan, you might be able to free yourselves.
P.S. My skin happens to be dark brown. BOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Katrina,
The white men who keep it alive are not heard or listened to as readily as the BET monster, Sharpton, Jackson, and Farrakan. My major point is that segregation still exists after so many fought and lost their lives in an attempt to end it. It is kept alive by people calling themselves black and brown.

KATRINA,
What do you think i'm doing????
I am stepping up as new leadership. It will not be in the form of black leadership, as I am HUMAN leadership. I had to flag you and LA LAW for reading what you want to hear out of my statement and drawing conlusions based upon your seclusion. You are truly SELF-segregated.

Are we starting to see the trend everyone?
Impact is SELF-segregated as well. These people will hold on to skin color as their only means of identity. This ideal must be let go compleatly for Americans to truly unite. I guess I have to say it. . .
I am an African American, My skin is Black, and no I don't use the color of my skin to identify myself.
More imortantly and above all else,
I am a HUMAN BEING.
Thank You all for your time.

People of ALL races are keeping racism alive. But I understand your point. Self-segregation truly is a problem. It's as though we all want to be defined by the color of our skin, but yet we want equal opportunity and respect. Well, we can't have it both ways. It's impossible to expect people to recognize and define us by race but treat us in a manner that doesn't take race into consideration.
(Ignore the first girl who answered. She's just as racist as the racist white people who she b*tches about.)

African Americans, Hispanic Americans, Irish Americans, Polish Americans, Mexican Americans, Native Americans,Cuban Americans,Italian Americans, German Americans, Bavarian Americans, Russian Americans,African Americans.... this is all getting confusing don't you think? It is like making a good stew but keeping the vegatables separate. It is impossible in order for it to work properly.
All from different cultures non tolerant of other cultures therefore not United Together as Americans should be. We have nothing in common since our language and culture shock and religion is separating us as Americans. We will eventually fall from within without the terrorist help.

I never thought I'd hear a day when a white man would say African Americans and Hispanics are keeping racism alive.

Nah I like Black/African American...Ethnic backgrounds are meaningless here, most Americans (black and white) are ethnically mixed with many different things...Naming of 5 or 6 different ethnicities would be pointless..Black, White, Hispanic is here to stay..so CHOOSE ONE :)

I guess classification will end when people begin to recognize themselves as Americans rather than Irish Americans, Italian Americans, Polish Americans, etc. What's wrong with knowing your background? If your logic was correct, South Africans wouldn't be able to call them selves AFRICANS.

NO WHITE MAN KEEPS RACISM ALIVE
Yahoo Answers shows the racism towards blacks. Your statement is silly.
EVERYONE IS BLACK. BLACKS WERE FIRST. I'M NOT HOLDING ON TO ANYTHING, IT IS WHO I AM.
Do you know that the "one drop rule" still used today was brought about by whites starting during slavery. THEY CLASSIFY RACE. SNOW WHITE is a racist character made by whites, no other race can play her but whites, there are too many examples to count.
