I heard that Canadians were somewhat responsible for that, but am not sure. Can anyone kindly clarify the facts? cheers!

The history of the White House website doesn't explain the color. It is true that when it was built, the fashion was for pale stone and Roman-style or Greek-style architecture. It is a fine-looking building.

The White House is white because years back there was a fire and a lot of smoke damage. They painted the house white and adopted the name White House.

Why did everyone respond with a racist answer? Would it look better blue? What about green??? It has NOTHING to do with race, in fact, the original white house was much darker, but it was burned by the British.

Not really. There wasn't a lot of color choices at that time. The original white house was burned during the war of 1812, but it was white before that.

Because white people think that they're superior to everyone else so they named the building where white people have all the power the white house
