I get annoyed only when people are judged, on whatever they are doing in their pursuit of happiness. So long it is healthy for them and those around them who are we to judge a person trying to be happy?

No -- I don't get annoyed at all. It's better when a black person sounds white. I respect any black person who doesn't use the word yo after everything they say -- or uses extreme amounts of slang. Black people don't sound educated when they speak bad english with words you can't even find in the dictionary.

No, it's actually quite refreshing to see a black person that doesn't act, speak or dress like a ghetto thug. I'd be considered a racist by most of you people on here. I don't have any black friends and I don't want any. But every once in a while a black person comes along that makes me rethink my racist beliefs. I just wish there were more like that. Maybe then there wouldn't be so many racists like me.

There is no such thing as acting "white" or "black". I mean does Brad Pitt act like Eminem? No. Does Oprah act like Missy Elliott? No. People are just who they are. I get annoyed when people of different races are lump into one category.

My, my you have a lot of undercover racism in you. #1 - Technically we all speak the same language. We are taught it in school. ALL ethnic groups have their own language that they communicate with. #2 - Who taught you or gave you the idea that whites are annoyed by such trivial things as the expression of ones self is a question to me. And where on God's green earth would you get the idea that blacks would be annoyed in reverse situations. #3 - Communication plays a major part in the life of man. But, it does not have anything to do with racism. Blacks struggled for so many years for freedom and are still struggling today. I have been in an interracial marriage for over 20 years and these "senseless" questions make me ponder your intelligence. Instead of worrying about communication skills annoying each other let's get down to more grass roots issues like fair education for the Afro Americans. Let's talk about fairness and equality in the job market for Afro Americans. Let's talk about a race that is losing it's good men and women to prisons due to the justice system. Please, please I beg you. If you go there please go there with grace and respect for your race. Find a better platform to discuss and go there informed with a reasonable and respectful question!!! Good luck to you.

I think that people should just be themselves. Why do people say that black people talk white? Is it because they not using the "N" word and cursing every minute. If a black person happens to have a good education they talk properly. It should not be labeled as talking white.. Some white people do not talk properly at all...

If they are putting on an act it would be annoying for either race I guess, but if you're white and raised in the hood you are going to talk like your neighbors and if you're black and raised in a rich suburb you're also going to speak as your neighbors I suppose. I get annoyed when if you are white skinned but obviously you were raised in a (trying to be politically correct here...) black hood where ebonics is spoken you are not acting by being white and speaking ebonics, you are just speaking as you were taught outside of the classroom with your friends/neighbors. ..why do people say you're acting black if you're just being yourself? If you are black and were raised around those who speak perfect english too bad if it annoys other people..they are being racist if they say you are "acting white."

"I don't remember what the class discussion was about, but after an undoubtedly brilliant observation on my part, a black girl from across the room raised her hand and announced to the class, 'He talk like a WHITE boy!'"
This is just the start of a very fascinating book by Joseph C. Phillips, "He Talk Like A White Boy." It deals with this language vs. race attitude that exists.
For myself, it is sad that we have to have a race-based distinction at all in our language. All I want is proper English to be spoken and written, no matter what the color of their skin... remember this one... "I HAVE A DREAM..."

I don't see anything wrong with it. There is no such thing as talking "white" though. I hate the fact that when people speak with proper words and pronunciation, they are dubbed as speaking "white" or an "uncle tom"....Since when is it so bad to speak properly.

No if they do get annoyed it's because it only helps African Americans get ahead more then keep them behind. Just with the accent itself this helps get then ahead. So I don't see how this could get them annoyed.
Do black people get annoyed when whites act black...come one so judgemental!
