Being an asian male, I know I've suffered from stereotypes, but it seems as if every single asian guy out there is WAY overcompensating, really really forced machismo and hypermasculinity. I find all these asian guys trying to deeply submerge themselves in the hip-hop culture as they were black themselves and scatter the words "rice" "chopsticks" or other disgustingly stereotypical words throughout it. They have the whole overrated street racing culture. Excessive use of the word Dragon or rice. I could go on forever. This doesn't just happen in America either, which is extremely sad. Every single "asian" party I've gone to in college was always full of sketchy douchebags out for a fight, and often times it always ended up in some fight.
The funny thing is, the majority of the people I know who act like this were sweet, little, nerdy kids when they were younger who liked playing video games. Why is it that every Asian guy out there seem to be trying to prove something?

Do you call yourselves along the lines of African-British, Afro-British, Black British, or just Black? What is the common way of identifying your ethnicity/nationality in your country?

I do. Isn't it unfair to the immigrants who are waiting now to enter. For example, isn't it unfair to my Indian and Korean friends who are waiting to gain their citizenship while their families wait far away?

I am a pure african boy born and raised now living in the uk. And i feel realy much that people tend to often get things twisted about being black and being an illetrated african american. I am not being racist but here is my remarks
It is either that all african americans are not sure of who they are so they accept and embrase wat they are labled as and make it who they are. Example being black is not speaking ebonics . Being black is speaking in one language love.
Being black is having ur hair braded or as an unkept afro
Being black is refering to everyone as brother or sister.
I am from Nigeria and when i stayed there the way people spoke down on the african american race will make your realise that they dont illuminate being black but being the racialy confused ignorant people they label them as.
Wearing A gold chain with baggy jeans and a durag is not black but is being a Hoodlum. the sad one is they the first to be racist and the first to accuse u of being racist

So uh, yeah, I identify as an Asian American, but there's obviously some other race(s) in my gene pool because I was born with light reddish brown hair and gray eyes.

I feel weird telling people who want to know if I'm mixed, "No, my parents, grandparents and great-grands on both sides are Korean," so I've started just saying I'm Hapa, which is a mixed race Asian.

Is that wrong?

I do not have tattoos or piercings and I tend to label people with a lot of tattoos and piercings as bad people. I know that many businesses do not hire people with them. Why is this?

Nothing we say will change their minds so why bother? Our anger is their source of entertainment. Why can't we see this? Why do we go so worked up over ignorance? Would you ask a question if you knew for sure you wouldn't get an answer? Of course not!! Lets start acting like these questions don't exist!! Who's with me?

In my experience, if i refer to them as biracial, some feel that I am trying to exclude them from being black (some see themselves as fully black). If I call them black, i feel i am overlooking the non-black part of their ethnicity.

And I dont really understand why its ok to call them black in the first place, since ETHNICALLY they are no more black than white.

Take Tiger Woods. Some would say he should be called black, but in reality he is black and asian.

WHy is it when a biracial person has a small part of black in them that they are called black. It that fair to the other part of their ethnic heritage.

Or...should I consider how the person feels about it - i.e. if the person is biracial but classes themself as black, should I just accept that. Is that right?

This question is not intended to cause offence in the slightest. I just think there should be an honest, accurate way of referencing a biracial person's ethnicity.

Sensible comments welcome.

gets too complicated. She lives in Jordan, is a palestinian and will run from her family and Islam to be with me. We love each other but I am getting nervous about her family and her dropping Islam.

Should I dump her or try to make this work? I just do not want her in three years to start missing her family and Islam. I wish she could have a normal relationship with her family after this but I do not think her family will have her after this.

Confused in Seattle.

Spain is fighting against an epidemic against Latino gangs in their major cities. The criminal Latin Kings Nations had invaded Spain with acts of brutality and crime commited agaisnt Spaniards. Hundreds of Spanish youths have banded to combat the rising violence on their streets.
Do the Spanish have a right to defend themselves? The Latino immigrants just believe it's an excuse to bash on anyone non-white in the country. Your thoughts.....

You've probably only heard of them if you went to school in Napa County and read "Jeremy and the Wappo" in third grade. All I know is that they were native to the Napa Valley and they are pretty much all gone now.
