So uh, yeah, I identify as an Asian American, but there's obviously some other race(s) in my gene pool because I was born with light reddish brown hair and gray eyes.
I feel weird telling people who want to know if I'm mixed, "No, my parents, grandparents and great-grands on both sides are Korean," so I've started just saying I'm Hapa, which is a mixed race Asian.
Is that wrong?

Why not?
Just a question though....Are you asian or american? I like Hapa better.
Never did like the whole Asian-American, African American, Irish American etc combinations.
I have German and Portugese ancestry but by God, I'm proud to be an American, and an American only.

It really is because youre denying one of your parents. Its hard when you look one single race and youre a mixed person, but you have to embrace all of your races.Be proud to be Asian and what ever other races you are. Im sure they all have their good qualities.

If it cuts down the time to explain the whole thing - go with the short explanation, even if it is not quite accurate.

Just tell them you are Korean and if they say you don't look Korean; say, "Yes, I do!"
It's not that unusual for Asians to have red hair.
Hapa is hawaiian and haole, not asian.

No. You are asian. If you are mixed with a race other than white, you are not white. Any blood but white is dominant.

It's only wrong if you think it's wrong. It's all about you and how you feel. Whatever makes you feel good about yourself and comfortable is the answer.

Do what is best in your view.
I don't know why people try to judge solely on appearances anyway.
