Black people are big supporters of the word racist. They can call whites racist, they can call Bush racist, they can call us whatever racist name they want and we don't get our panties in a bunch like blacks do. If we insult them a LITTLE bit, they go calling us racist! There racists for calling someone else racist and I'm just wondering black people, who here can honestly say that you have NEVER in your WHOLE life has ever made a comment about whites in thier skin color. "Oh, he;s so white he's gotta glow in the dark!" or "Man, if i've ever seen a ghost thats him!" or "Hey white boy!". If we called blacks, "Hey black girl!" you'd get all riled up.

Meaning, if they had to deal with someone who didn't fit the negative stereotypes that supports their racism, would they be able to have respect for that person or would they still not care solely because of the color of their skin?

I know, I know, why do I care? Well I’m a nice guy and I treat her nicely so she is always coming to me with the new poem she wrote about her cat, I just can’t stand her, why cat people has to be so weird? she makes me uncomfortable

CNN keeps saying that hip hop culture is to blame, they show clips of several rap videos with women in bikinis. Saying it's raps fault. Two of the videos are by Nellie. Tip Drill - a song about strippers, and Pimp Juice - ironically, objectionable as those songs may be, neither of them contain the word "ho" or "nappy head" even once.

In fact, it dawned on me that most of the time the word ho is in a rap song it is referring to other dudes.

I can only think of a couple rap songs that even use the word ho. and those songs are specifically about ho's; not referring to all women that way.

Can you name a rap song were all women are referred to as hos?

Frankly, I don't agree with Imus on most issues, but in my view, people are taking this comment he made way too far. Why isn't anyone scolding the rappers for their foul language, and personal attacks? Also, women's basketball team is acting pathetic in my opinion. I mean, come on! They seem to be giving this man way too much power over them. In my opinion, everyone needs to, as my daughter would say, "GET OVER IT!" What say you all?

Why is Al Sharpton always in the middle (everyone always has to go to him) and is this really justified as a racial comment? Why is it that in the US that it always turns out to be a media black/white issue? I'm thinking more so a sexist, but musics stars (black/white) can say whatever they want. "Nappy Headed Hos" <- does not specific black/white/hispanic/asian...anyone??

I'm having significant difficulty understanding why Imus's comment about the basketball team is in controversy. Clearly racism should not be tolerated but I am not convinced those comments were racist. Here is the basis for my confusion - 1. Imus says similar things about all people at almost any time you would listen to his show. He does it for comedic effect (not that I'm saying his remarks were funny but I am also not a fan of his show because of his "comedy"). 2. I found the remarks to be far more sexist than racist. 3. Have you listed to a good rap song lately or any song by Snoop Dogg? These lyrics are about as racist as you can get.

My opinion is that while his remarks were disgusting, it was a far cry from being as extreme as our entertainment culture is today. I believe that people need to get less sensitive about what people say like that unless of course it is an employer or other authority figure. But, no one should allow anyone to control your self worth by

The only argument I've heard is that people won't listen and will do whatever they want, but then, rapists will still rape people no matter what, so should we just give up prosecuting them and let them rape and kill whoever they please?

For those of you who've read "Animal Farm" the whole Imus story reminds me of the farmer. The farmer was bad. After they overthrew him, the pigs came to power. The end result was that the pigs designed things so that some citizens were more equal than others. That seems to be path some people desire we move towards or am I mistaken?

Or will they finally say 'I am sorry' for appointing themselves as our 'leaders'? Who put them in those 'leadership' positions anyway?

I'm not going to participate in any spewing of racial venom. All of this racial nonsense over Imus' comment has just gotten out of hand. Why is it that white America views black people as some kind of threat, like we're the enemy... meanwhile there are other races of people flying planes into the Trade Center, killing thousands of innocent people. Is this society so pathetic that a foolish comment can once again completely divide the races? Racial slurs are not okay from anyones' mouth... black or white, because they're always meant to degrade and dehumanize, and no, rappers shouldn't say the "N" word either, however, it's not quite the same thing. For example, if a 400lb person calls another 400lb person "fatty" that's not as insulting as it would be coming from a 100lb person. Do we as a society really want to live our lives hating each other?

A co-worker believes that the blacks had it worse. She mentioned something about get beat more, tar and feathering, getting hung, sold, raped, beaten, and having to take care of the people that did the above.

Whereas the jews had a place to live, they got fed, they were gassed or shot so torture wasn't an issue, many found their families again, etc.

what's on your mind?

As a handsome white boy who is dating a beautiful indian girl, I cannot help but notice how much attraction there is between the two. Of course, another race might feel a particular attraction for someone else, but I'm just discussing white and indian. I feel like we're starting to pursue each other in greater numbers, and I cannot figure it out. Ideally, no person should date just one particular race, but I cannot help the type I'm attracted to. So, if you're white or if you're indian, are you noticing the attraction more recently or is that just my imagination? See these links.

I am trying to understand why some races hate all white people. I hate what my ancestors did all those years ago, and that white people enslaved black people. I hate that some white people are racist and prejudiced. But it's been well over a hundred years since slavery, why are black people mad at white people TODAY about it? Also Latinos, some other races etc also hate white people.

Are there other things about white people that make you mad enough to hate us all If so, what is it?

My family told me never to judge a book by its cover, but by the contents inside. I live that way now and I'm glad that I do.
