well, the problem is that 9/11 was just 7 years ago, it's a bit hard to get over it, and it wasn't just white people who got hurt - there were people of all races and of all religions who got hurt or died

People like you are one of the reasons why prejudice and discrimination is still such a problem.
You are talking about all these groups of people as though they are all the same....look the same, feel the same, have the same opinions, have had the same hardships, etc....and it just isn't true. You are stereotyping.
You are implying that all Muslims are Middle Easterners. And you are also lumping all Muslims together with those who are thought to be responsible for the horrible events that transpired on 9/11.
You are implying that all the Holocaust victims were Jews and that all Jews are descendents of Holocaust victims.
You are implying that all the 9/11 victims were white.
You are implying that all white people are unfeeling, unsympathetic pricks.
You are implying that there are no white Jews.
You are implying that all blacks are decendents of slaves and that all blacks feel the same about slavery.
You are implying that blacks are the only people to have been affected by slavery and imperialism.
You are in desperate need of education.

Being Native American I can say that we haven't got over genocide or the eugenics project. I have to say that this is the most ignorant question I've seen posted. 9/11 will be with us (Americans and non-Americans as well that were involved) ALWAYS as will all of history's events. If we were to "get over it" how would we learn? If it were up to people like you we'd all be desensitized, then the killing and racism could just run rampant and nobody would care.

First of all, 9/11 didn't just affect white people. It affected all types of Americans, not any specific race. And obviously SOME black peopel haven't gotten over slavery b/c they still bring it up as an excuse. Also, 9/11 is pretty recent. Sorry we want to rid the world of terrorists. Not to mention no one ever said all terrorists are Muslim!

Never heard that, except from you. What's funny is that the African end of the slave trade was controlled by African Muslims. And people do try to hide that. According to the U.S., there are more slaves in the U.S. and Canada today than all the black slaves combined prior to emancipation. The majority are in the sex trade and about evenly divided between asians and east europeans. The countries with the most slaves in the modern world are the near-eastern muslim controled countries and japan. Ain't civilization grand?

We've never asked Muslims for anything. What happened 09/11 was an atrocity. But we united (Blacks, Caucasian, Asian, Christian, Atheist, Jew, American, British, Canadian, French, etc...) and rebuilt and moved on.
What does being a "White American" have to do with anything? Surely you can't be so ignorant as to believe that ONLY whites and ONLY Americans died in the 09/11 attacks?

not one race has ever gotten over their past. Every race can claim to be victimized at some time in history and we all have had a hand in doing it. we all have forgotten this and we have also forgotten we all started out the same and the only thing that now separates us is the idea that we are different by means of colour and religious beliefs thanks to some great thinkers and their following

White people don't tell anyone to get over anything. Those are scares on American and World history and should not be forgotten. Besides, "White people" aren't the only ones that were affected by 9/11. That's like saying that only Hawiians were affected by Pearl Harbor.

Are you really that ignorant? It was not just Americans or whites that died that day. & it was not race related. & We are not telling anyone to "get over it". This was only 6 years ago & how would you feel if it were someone you loved that died there. This was an extremely atrocity against humans, not jsut white people. Maybe you should leave America, you pathetic B*tch.

You should never get OVER the past. You have to learn from the past so the events mentioned will never reapeat. I fully feel for the events mentioned above. You truly must not understand how many people have died, how these events have shaped our world. You should never ever GET over these things. Forgive ,but dont forget.

Lisa...You look white to me. I expect you are getting some pretty harsh criticism right now. Who do you think you are girl? The female version of God? I never met any person that didn't feel they were facing opposition in some way regarding race, religion, weight.. or any other forms of discrimination! Go paint yourself purple.
