Black people are big supporters of the word racist. They can call whites racist, they can call Bush racist, they can call us whatever racist name they want and we don't get our panties in a bunch like blacks do. If we insult them a LITTLE bit, they go calling us racist! There racists for calling someone else racist and I'm just wondering black people, who here can honestly say that you have NEVER in your WHOLE life has ever made a comment about whites in thier skin color. "Oh, he;s so white he's gotta glow in the dark!" or "Man, if i've ever seen a ghost thats him!" or "Hey white boy!". If we called blacks, "Hey black girl!" you'd get all riled up.

I HAVE SAID IT BEFORE AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN.

IF YOU DON'T GIVE RACISM THE POWER TO GROW....
EVENTUALLY IT WILL DIE.

yeah like BET. and how many black comedians do see that DONT mention "white" people. I saw a white guy in Pittsburgh nearly get lynched after a stand up show for commenting on black kids and white kids playing basketball, and joke was about the white kids.
f-ck'n double standard people suck. But also remember its not everyone and recognition of culture and race isnt always a shot.
takes all kinds to make the world go round!

Listen chica there is a difference between description, racism and racial profiling.
I agree with the above statement you need to stop hating. You also need to realize that though times are changing minority groups still suffer because of some peoples ignorant comments and views.
think about it this way I am assuming you are white. what if your child was multi racial then how would it makes you feel to hear those comments? you ever try and put yourself in someone Else's shoes? you can say whatever you want now but until it directly affects you or someone you love you will never know how it would/will make you feel.

FYI the visual part of race that you are referring to is pigment. How much your body produces is often decided by DNA but in some cases it can vary based on your body. My mothers friend is "white" and her body produces lots of pigment or melanin she is darker in skin tone than my bf from the Bahamas. its not the color that matters (that's a shallow thing to assume) cliche as it may sound it IS THE PERSON.

I have noticed that on islands and in many other countries people are reffered to less often by skin tone or race it is not an issue on either part.

I completely agree with the double standard.a white man lost his job over some bulls*** recently,Don Imus, not to mention his reputation that the media is so easily blowing out of proportion.Imus meant nothing wrong by "nappy headed ho's" if people weren't igorant they'd see he said good things about the tennessee team which are mostly black also.if it's vica versa tho blacks can degrade, insult, and judge white people without any reprocussion and if a white person steps up they're told they're too sensitive.I want people to check out this double sandard and tell me how white people aren't the most discriminated against

Whoaaa Nelly............I see you're a little hot about this.So that turns your skin the color of Red. Would I be a racist to call you Red when you get angry? Someone has really pissed you off today or whenever. But I see you're adding on the stereotype list by calling Blacks "THEY"and "THEM". People living in Glass Houses, shouldn't throw stones. Get out there and erase the negativity!!! Take care

I think it's unacceptable, no matter what color you are, to dislike somebody's ethnicity. There truly are differences in races and nationalities, so talking about them isn't bad, it's when people are allowed to categorize people by those differences without even knowing if it's true of them, generalizing. Calling a guy white boy makes sense (if he's really making it easy...), but you're right. There does seem to be a double standard.

Please don't get mad, but whites started thet whole "racial category" thing and started treatind others badly based on race. This is not to say that other groups didn't treat others badly based on their "race". In this country, however, whites are known throughout our history for doing terrible things to others based on their race. Because white have the big history, I think that's why non-whites get so angry when whites today make certain comments, or do certain things. You are right, though. Any group can discriminate, or act "racist" towards another. Whites are definately NOT the only ones.

Most blacks still believe the oppression from 200+ years ago still exists today. Therefore, as an oppressed race, they believe they have the right to voice their dissention through racial slurs. On the other hand, the white race, the oppressers, the Man, does not believe an oppression exists today, and therefore, can not make racial slurs.

I know and love many black people and I hear how they refer to us white people. It doesn't bother me or them when I tease them back. But to make a racist remark on public radio/TV is another thing. Our politicians and commentators should show respect to everyone regardless of their color.

Well, people are just so touchy with race. White people just don't want to be called racist. Its kind of ridiculous, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
