Ok, some of white america is saying that Imus constitutional rights were violated. There was never a time that he could not say whatever he wants to say. When you are working at any job, there is a certain amount of professionalism.

Some whites say that they would never start a campaign to get someone fired. That is nonsense. I have gone to a resturant and a young waiter had his shirt out along with a young white one. A white table called for management saying how unprofessional that it looked and only pointed out the young black man. We left him a $150.00 tip with a note that said be encouraged. I have been through it, when it was said that my pants suit was too brightly colored, and if I could not subdue my dress style that I need to work elsewhere. This was a client that had a real problem with camel toe. Some try to go after us all the time. We fight back. If people are so angry where is your picket signs, people should be shouting rehire Imus. I do not see that.

In the US.

Young white women or young black men?

In terms of educational opportunities, economic opportunities, and social standing?

And, why do you so answer?

I plan to reclaim the swastika, a gentle and kindly symbol, in the name of all that is good and true and pure!

I bought a fylfot (Swastika) yesterday and I plan on wearing it. If anyone mentions Hitler when they see my fylfot, they will get an education.

I've come to the conclusion that education is the key. Looking at some of the answers to my fylfot question opened my eyes to just how stupid people can be!

Anyone else want to reclaim the gentle swastika?

so angry in your questions and your answers here at YA? It's like the whole country is Bi-Polar (undiagnosed) running around loose from some looney bin. Even an innocent question, is answered by angry hostile American, muslim, european, african people. Is it because you feel so impotent in your own life that you attack everyone and everything outside your self? Please explain.

Finally! We can go after those negative rap talkers (they cant sing). They are ruining our society more than Imus.

It erks me a little bit when every conversation i have heard, whether it be on tv or with people that i have personally talked to, only address these remarks as racist. by black people going crazy about the words "knappy headed", they are basically saying that only black people have knappy hair(which i do not agree with). its kind of wierd to see upstanding black men representing the "victims" of these remarks, when they have absolutely nothing to do with this statement. Also, no one seems to be addressing the last part of the statement which refers to the women as "hos". why is that not equally demeaning? I personally am a white male, and i do not believe that he should have been fired. i never really listened to him, and i do not agree with ANY part of his statement. But, i believe he has the right to say whatever he wants. I just choose not to listen. just as i choose not to listen to the even more derogatory lyrics of almost any hip hop artist in the music industry.

It makes me sick
evil men like jesse jackson and al sharpton are only out to reverse the roles so that white people are the underdogs in a country where everyone is supposed to be equal and have freedom of speech regardless of its context

You see him pop-up, every time an african american is subjected to racism.
Upon his latest comments, regarding the firing of Don Imus, he was quoted saying " No one should use the public airwaves to transmit racial or sexual degradation".
Really, Jessee? Then why are you so reluctant to go after people like dave chappelle? Chris Rock? Carlos Mencia? Ludacris? 50 cent?
nobody should use the airwaves to transmit racial degradation, you say? Nobody? Not one person? Or, not one white man???
Jessee Jackson is a racist, because he is a product of racism.

I think that the same standards should apply toward rap artist like Ice Cube.Cause he had the freedom of speeh to make a racist song about white women. That same freedom of speech should also apply toward those men in our society too.

Why isn't Imus's producer being subjected to firing too? The producer is the one who started it with.... "those ho's... " then Imus just completed it and made it more descriptive.. "some nappy headed ho's". While I am "happy to be nappy " and proud of my heritage, and my natural unchemically relaxed hair, I do think it sexist and unfair to attack the character of women you do not know and in the process indict an entire race's female gender. Was it meant to funny? Maybe... Was it funny? No. But remember, it matters not by what name you call me, it matters more to which name I answer.

Why can these two pigs be such racist and it's ok simply because they are black. They like to flap right away but they never apologize for all their racial mistakes. Sort of like the Duke Lacrosse thing. Time for an apology to them pig boys!

I'm not racists but I have to state color. It seems as though white people try to sneak racist comments in toward blacks. It seems as though they know certain things are sensitive but they continue to straddle the line.

Sharpton and Jesse Jackson pretty much got Don Imus fired, but I was thinking that the black stripper in the Duke lacross case lied about everything and ruined those boys lives and she wont even be getting prosecuted. How can she get away with doing that? Seems like white people should select someone to be their Al Sharpton - maybe Rush Limbaugh?

Rutgers stood behind their ladies basketball team when Imus attacked them but Duke spit on those boys when they were wrongfully accused. Soooo, Now that the real truth is out about the false accusations the Duke players were subjected to, now will white guys FINALLY get civil rights for them? I mean as has been displayed in this Duke case white guys are the only group that don't have rights or "right groups" rushing and pandering to their sides.

Why is there racism? Why do people always have to judge one another because of their color of skin? I mean seriously. Why are we so disrespectful to blacks? Every time I go to see a movie it has whites treating blacks like trash. I hate to see this. If there was a white man who ran for president against a black man, and the white man was really dumb. I mean, he didnt know the difference between a hobo and an elbow, and then the black was a very wise, smart, guy who was right for president, who would you vote for? I mean imagine we were all blue, then can you imagine how nice our world would be? There wouldnt be as many color problems and we really, though, wouldnt be able to tell the difference between one another. Why do blacks hate whites and why do whites hate blacks? Why cant we just be our own freaking selves and like one another for who we are?

Reparations for slavery is a movement in the United States, which suggests that the government apologize to slave descendants for their hardships, and bestow on them reparations, whether it be in the form of money, land, or other goods. (Wikipedia.org)

Please take some time and give me your thoughts on the subject. I'd love to *hear* your insight.

I don't like the use of the "N" word by anyone - friends, family members, rappers or any other entertainer. I find it peculiar that society accepted - even though we may not have liked it- the use for so long. Now, Mr. Richards is even more famous because his racial slurs caused black society to want the "N" word banned. I'm not saying that it is a bad thing to have the word banned, I just don't understand why we were not able to do it ourselves for ourselves? Don't misunderstand, this is not about Mr. Richards; it is about us as black Americans.

i dont understand why some white people wanna call blacks and eachother the n word just because they hear black people saying it. whites said that word in the past to put down black people and show their "power" over them. many black people died and many white people got beat up so that all americans can be treated equally and not 2nd class citizens. black people can call eachother the n word because they are black and its nothing out of hate and they generally know what they go through. why is it that some white people feel that its ok that they hear blacks call eachother that they can say it? white people were never enslaved and then made 2nd class citizens and had to go through the struggle blacks went through here in america. peace
