I have seen this more and more, where if a guy slashes the idea of wearing a Kilt, than just saying they wouldn't wear one. It seems to be a litmus test for those who are not secure in their sexuality, because here in America, everything should be tolerated, so long as it doesn't hurt another person or creature.
I take it as fighting being gay. Popular estimates are that nearly 10 percent of the population is gay in America. I believe there is at least that many more that are so fighting their gay intentions, that they fight anything that could be construed as gay.
Ironically, the Kilt, adapted to American ways, causes ire with many boys, teens and men. They somehow see it as being gay like, whereas in actuality, virtually no gay guys wear them. It usually takes a very strong and confident guy to wear a Kilt in this day in age outside the Scottish circles.
With so many subversives around, many assume yet another. Actually, the scary ones are really the ones still in the closet.
