As a straight guy, I don't hate gay guys. I can not understand why people are homophobic. I just don't get it.

Not all straight men hate gay men
my best friend is straight and a man...
its just because those men are usually ones in the closet themselves and too much of an idiot to realize it or to much of a real poser to admit it to anyone. Although I think its natural for a straight man to hate gay people if he's never had much experience seeing them on t.v., I think one of the reasons why most boys and girls under the age of 15 hate gays is because they are'nt used to it bc t.v. does'nt show enough UNSTEREOTYPICAL gays, I think if people were exposed to it more or at a younger age they would be more tollerant about it and become used to it faster and THERE WOULD BE ALOT LESS HATE CRIMES ON GAYS...
I just came out this year (my sophomre year) I'm 16 yet most people in my grade are 15 however and this was a problem for alot of people but then they realized that I'm not like all those gay guys they put on t.v. like on Will & Grace or The Real World and saw that I was ok I just had different tastes...

Some men are afraid. They may think gay men want to hit on them. Trust me, gay men can distinguish a straight one from a gay one. My boyfriend is a general manager of a gay nightclub and gets all kinds of questions and speculations of his preference. It takes a real man to accept everyone. I saw your add on that you are a young inquisitive guy. Good for you for asking questions people think are taboo.

In most cases "straight" men who hate gays are really afraid of them, and in a lot of those cases its because they are in denial about being gay themselves.
Gays might be gay, but its the homophobes that are the real fags.

I think they r scared of things they do not understand. Maybe ashamed of how some of their own kind can act and behave since a lot of society looks down on gay men. And lots of them r jus homophobes.

But not "all" men so you can't really generalize this.
I think they do this because they feel awkward about men on men. And sometimes disgusted. It's not something they are comfortable with when it comes to their own sex.
But that still doesn't explain why they are ok with women those bastards lol

I don't hate gay men. You guys are actually pretty cool. I don't watch lesbian porn. It's boring(no offense). Some people have to understand that your relationship with another guy is not just about sex like theirs with a girl. You guys are doing something that needs to be respected. Bravery would be an understatement when it comes to your affairs.
