i used to think its bcuz they are gays deep down inside who are afraid to admit it but it seems real irrational hatred and they truly hate gay men with all their might,
there are some nice straight men who are friendly to gays but most just gross out and try to attack a gay guy who hits on them and you can see the hatred is real.
what's the psychological reason for that?

I pondered this question, and I honestly have come to two conclusions:
1) Straight guys might be jealous of gay men because gay men have always had a better connection with women...because they are into the same things (sometimes) and they have similar intuitions...and women like to go out with gay guys because they feel they can open up and be close with them just like one of their best girl friends-not having to worry about things that they might worry about if they were with a straight guy. The straight guys might be jealous that the gay guys can be so close to women but they have to work their asses off for the same closeness.
2) Sometimes straight guys call other straight guys "gay" as an insult, and I think that maybe this deals with them taunting each other that they are more feminine than masculine in their personality or physical qualities. (As if being female were degrading). So they use their uneasiness with gay men to insult other straight guys as if to put them down...which is rediculous.

I do worry about what straight men are thinking about gay men, I guess it has changed over the years. If your refering to why straight men will not have sex with you, then it is biological.
Some people do not like gay men or gay women, that is their problem. Of course some straight men are sexy and yes the are afraid also that they will get bummed by another guy, so there is fear there and gender roles also may be changed which their small minds can not get their head around.
Some straight men do not aknowledge their feelings towards men either emotionally or physically, gay men have trouble with that also.

I think straight men hate gay men so much because the things gay people do seem weird to straight men and make them feel a certain way

Your question seems to be all over the place :) Let's all think about gender equality :) When is the planet going to realize that gay people have hearts, minds, and everything! What I'm trying to say is, if you don't like gay people, you don't like humans. My beliefs are against homosexuality. My beliefs are NOT against homosexual people. That would be stupid! They're born with this and one day they will change :) Gay people do things I don't like. Straight people so things I don't like but it is absolutely unacceptable to hate people so much because of it. The bible says honor men (everyone) of all sorts. -17 Honor men of all sorts,+ have love for the whole association of brothers,*+ be in fear of God,+ honor the king.+- That was 1 Peter 2.17. I think that's an awful generalization. I'm gay and I have tons of straight friends who are completely cool with me being gay. Some straight men are homophobic, mainly because the concept of doing anything sexual with a guy seems foreign or disgusting to them. Usually its just bigotry though- the way people were raised, possibly their religion- oh, and gay men are easy targets for the douchebags to make fun of.

Straight men don't hate gay men so much as they hate the idea of gay men hitting on THEM and I don't blame them one bit. That said, they shouldn't beat gay men up or kill them. However, non violent straight men ARE NOT GAY and they ARE NOT going to be gay for YOU or anybody else. They want women, not men.
A lot of gay men go after straight men and name them as crushes which is insulting to any hetero man and any hetero woman. I also find it insulting when lesbians like straight women. We're NOT lesbians, NEVER gonna be and lesbians are not Brad Pitt and Rob Lowe so they need to LEAVE STRAIGHT women ALONE cause we DON'T WANT to be bothered. They have NOTHING we're interested in and nothing to offer us. It's all about respect and homosexuality is an abomination to God. Nobody's forcing ANYONE to be anything they DON'T WANT to be. Straight guys don't want to be gay. That's all.

Simply put one of the few answers men are afraid of saying, They don t want that same sexual harassment that sick in the head men give women, Straight or Gay you are still capable of sexual harassment, There are stories of gay people even black mailing straight people into a sexual relation, There is good and evil in this world and Gay people are not all pure and good, I hate how people sling the term "Homophobia" When dealing with someone rejecting the idea of being gay, they have their rights to not want that in their lives, That doesn t mean any sort of fear, would you want someone who makes you feel uncomfortable in your life?

First of all, I'm asexual, so I can't exactly speak for straight PEOPLE, period.
But I know for sure that there are straight men that are fine with homosexuality. And another thing, there's a difference between flirting(Which is respectful) and hitting on somebody(Which is disrespectful, no matter what orientation you are. If somebody is hit on, they have all the right to complain).
