Scientific researchers who specialize in human sexuality have shown that homosexuality is linked to biology and genetics.

An October 2004 scientific research publication stated that scientists have found that women tend to have more children when they inherit the same genetic factors linked to homosexuality in men & that this fertility boost more than compensates for the lack of offspring fathered by gay men and keeps the “gay” genetic factors in circulation; a 2005 study reported genetic scans showing a clustering of the same genetic pattern among gay men on three chromosomes; a study published in Human Genetics in February 2006 found extreme differences in X chromosome inactivation in mothers of gay sons and mothers whose sons were not gay; and another 2006 scientific study found that a man's likelihood of being gay rises with the number of older biological brothers even if gay men were raised away from their biological families.

I asked a similar question before, and I got some interesting views on it. Some say it's genetics, though it's not one "Gay gene" that causes it, but it's a series of genes that are slightly different than that of heterosexuals. Some say it's external influence, though that's probably not 100% true. Perhaps it's a combination of both, a series of genes which are slightly different than that of heterosexuals, and some influence.

I think it's kind of ignorant just to say, they just are, because there's a biological reason behind everything you do, like, or prefer.

Some people believe that it jus happends at birth

I know a guy who goes to my school who thinks its a chemical inballence in the brian.

Some people can make themselves think they are gay so they act on it

Some believe its the envioremnt that you we're grown up in.

And some believe its the cause of sexual abuse.


Im belive im a lesbian because i hate my father. I dont want to be with anyone like my father, so i avoid men. I mean im attracted to women deff. but i think thats the reason why i started to think about being a lesbian. [started when i was like 7] Hope this helps. It prolly doesnt :]

No one has cared enough to do the research. Society would rather blame the person for who or what they are instead of knowing the facts. And the fact is, no one knows. My belief is that it's a chemical imbalance others believe its choice. I cant go or agree with the choice. I have known and seen to many cases where the party that was gay struggled with that fact and has committed suicide. "Not enough points to give thumbs up or down, but I give the o boy above me two thumbs up..."

Personally, I believe that most homosexuals were born gay.
I'm heterosexual, and I never sat down one day and chose between being straight or gay. I've never been sexually attracted to other men, so being gay was never a possibility for me. And I believe it works that way for gays, too.
If people CHOSE their sexuality...why would anyone deliberately choose one that has historically been discriminated against?
