Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender - March 2007

He cheated on my mom way back and ended up getting hiv my parents split up but it wasnt until now that i foung out the reason why. I love my dad but i feel so bad for what he did to my mom. my parents were so great all thoughtout my life they still get along which is great. I jsut dont feel conformtable talking to my dad about his condition is this normal? My dad is healthy and on meds for the hiv positive and he tells me how well he is doing on the meds and im happy for him but it makes me unformable to talk to him is this normal?

I've seen so many questions on this site asking why people are homosexual. I am guessing that not many people realize that not only do we not know why people are homosexual, but we also don't know why people are heterosexual. Obviously, a male and a female are designed to have children. What I mean is, scientists have no scientific evidence as to why people are heterosexual. We have just assumed that people are heterosexual in order to have children together.

An older teacher at my school has been calling my feminine male classmate a "twinkie". (He is metro or gay.) At first I thought it was just a nickname, but I looked it up on Urban Dictionary and it's actually a rude term for a gay male. I don't think my classmate is aware of this term either, as it is a bit old-fashioned. Would this be considered harrassment? Should I tell my classmate what it means?

To sum it up...We talked by phone for a month, met thru a friend. He has no car nor do I, he has no internet access, we didnt know how each other looked like. It seemed like we were falling in blind love. We got along great talked alot. He surprised me with a surprise visit, I just got out of work not looking so hot(My friends say its all in my head) He looked great we only had a 30 minutes to hang out, cuz he was using his sisters car, supposely he was waiting in a parking lot for his sister. (we live 30 miles away) OK thats the scenario now the problem, after we met, slowly he just faded away, didnt call that often, he didnt pick up the calls. So I was like f*ck him, didnt bother no more, he would call maybe once in while what I was doing. He was going thru a hard time, like probation, money problems, not earning enough, and his phone got cut off so thats the last I heard of him. 3 weeks later I get a surprise voicemail that he misses me, what Im I doing & he'll call me. Mindgames?

I've never tried to go out to a Gay bar. I'd be afraid someone who hates Gays, would find me and beat me up. And I don't know how to use the internet to do this. As in "thats a gay shirt" or "your gay"(not the literal term) I was raised with two wonderful gay uncles and i find my self saying it alot (not meaning to be offensive) and they dont seemed that bothered by it. they just say "if a (oh lets just say shirt) shirt is "gay" is would be a lot prettier!" But is the term offensive? Or is it okay? Is is kinda liek black people can say the N word and white people cant? one of those type things? It's already in the 80's and like all the other girls at the University are all wearing Daisy Duke's and shorts. I'm not a shorts person and I never wear them.
