I've never tried to go out to a Gay bar. I'd be afraid someone who hates Gays, would find me and beat me up. And I don't know how to use the internet to do this. Also, I live with a family member, who doesn't know I'm Gay. And what if they read my e-mail (I'm not nervous about asking here). Thanks for your help.

There is a lot to fear living the life we live and being who we are. A great example is the first answerer. I just live with it and take it head on. I am proud of who and what I am and don't have a second thought about it. I would defend myself if attacked and if I die then I'll be a martyr for the LGBT community and our cause. My family is iffy about what I am and I would say good by to them if they can't support me, they aren't my family if they don't. You will eventually have to come to terms with these things or stay in the closet.

Wow, I'm so sorry for the first answer on this question!! What a hateful soul.
I find that gay bars in Seattle are pretty friendly. Do you know of any gay-friendly coffee bars in your area? Or bookstores?

There are many gay singles dating sites. I find it hard to believe you could figure out yahoo answers but cant go to google and type in something like..hmmm...'gay singles dating'.

As for your family member reading your email, use your yahoo mail account where only YOU know the password.

P.S. Millions of gay men go to gay bars and are never bothered. Don't let fear rule of something so unlikely rule your behavior.

If you go to a gay bar, you won't find many straights in there so don't worry.
