I am a straight married (14 years) woman. I have always been atracted to women. The type of woman I am attracted to besides the beautiful ones are the lesbians that are clean cut,athletic,short hair that almost resemble a man. I just wanted to know if there is anyone out there that has the same kind of attractions?

Let me begin by saying that there is nothing wrong with you. By asking what you are on this forum. You are seeking if what you are experiencing is normal. Each individual is different. I think the things you should be asking yourself is if this is simply an attraction or rather a sexual desire. Many heterosexual women look at other women and see characteristics which are desirable. That is a normal reaction of a heterosexual woman. Within the context of bisexual women...i am entering the iffy ground here of my response...this is where you are still with your husband, but do desire the intimacy and sexual energy of a woman to fill your world as well. Of course each woman is different to some degree. Then there is the lesbian who has been with men. These women have an awakening about midlife and realize omg. I am gay. I really desire women and not men...what have i done with my life and how will i fix this? No matter what the situation or reason...I guess I just wanted to let you know that there is no "normal" per se. Also consider that as a culture many lesbians have stereotypified the heterosexual roles of masculine and feminine...this may contribute to the choice in masculine women. Do not misunderstand me I am not saying it is wrong to do that...as stated earlier there really is no "normal". Just go with what makes you happy. Just be you. Misti, I'm the same way. I will be married for 14 years this month. Although some would argue, I do not consider myself straight. I identify myself as a lesbian. I am attracted to women that are more on the "butchy" side. It's a difficult situation to be in.
I grew up in a very strict Catholic family. I did everything I thought I was supposed to to. Got married, had kids. I have a great husband. He's a wonderful person. The sad part is I didn't truly realize my homosexuality until way into our marriage.

I'm not married (YET), but I'm engaged. I am a bisexual and I can be attracted to athletic women, but not really the "butch" lesbians with the short hair and look like men. I don't know what it is, but it kinda turns me off.

I am also a married woman (5 years) and no I am not attracted to woman who more resemble a man... I am attracted to beautiful woman who are femme with long hair, big breast, etc.

We can appreciate beauty and not pervert it into something sexual. I am a heterosexual woman and I have many women that I am attracted to but not sexually but as my sister and confidants. There is something going on within you if you are attracted to them in a sexual way, most likely you are craving female attention and companionship, this is normal, Just don't pervert it. As women, we need emotional support from other women, we need to talk and share openly with other women. We need these women to love us and be there for us. Just like men have that comaraderie amoungst men, that male bonding. Us women need it with our fellow sisters. We just should not make it into something else, like something sexual. And if you are having that tendency then it's because you have lacked somewhere in your life true female companionship and acceptance (primarily from a close female, like your mother or caretaker).
