what do they call a man who is not gay but takes care of himself ie..facials manicures, dresses good?

To my knowledge, that's what they call a "Metrosexual". Apparently, they can be in touch with their 'feminine side' and actually bathe more than once a week, have their nails done, pay attention to fashion trends, and so forth. It's a "fad" that's catching on, actually.

It's a made up word, but ti seems to be the new slang for it.
