I live in california and am looking for groups concerned about environmental and social issues. where should I go to find groups in my area?

I am trying to raise money for our local lodge and non-profit groups in my community. We have done the raffle thing but I am interested on having bigger events to raise big money. Any ideas?

Is there an organization or someone who can help with how "screwed" up the Medicaid system is in Indiana? Who do there supervisors report to? Why do caseworkers not follow thru with clients and return phone calls? Why do they give you deadlines and they don't keep up with there end of the deadline?
Who can help? If caseworkers do not want to help, then DO NOT TAKE THE JOB! Our people need help. Not everybody lives in Geist. Some people really do NOT have any help. Who can help. and most of all, who really cares?

If it's not free than how much is it? I don't even know how to set up a website but I need one for a fund raising. Can somebody help? Please!!!! I'm so excited to think that I can ask any question.
This fund raising is for my birth place (South Pacific) where there's no play grounds, no public library, no insurance of any kind, and the list goes on. Help please!

I would like to spend some time this summer volunteering somewhere in Latin America, especially Central America. I'm a English & Spanish teacher currently working in NJ. I'm looking for a volunteering program to join. I'm not looking into making money with that, but I can't afford to pay everything out of my pocket either, if you know what I mean. Is there any program that covers all or part of your travel and living expenses?

Well, let's see. I lost my job a couple of months ago, haven't found work yet and I am looking every single day. My family is 1200 miles away, and I live alone with no friends. Money is extremely tight, and if I don't find a job very soon, I will be homeless. I am thankful that I don't have children having to deal with this situation, that would be horrible...but it's bad enough. I used to make a very nice living and always splurged on my family and always sponsored a family at Christmas, and I enjoyed that. Christmas has always been my favorite time of the year...but this year I am depressed to the point getting out of bed is often a big accomplishment. I have cried so much my eyes hurt, and I try to not feel sorry for myself because I am thankful for my health and I am fortunate. What would you do if this happened to you at Christmas and how would you handle it? I am not looking for handouts, as they would be refused....just looking for some words of encouragement

Well, im a highschool student, and have organized a student protest march in D.C. Now, in order to do this, we kind of, you know need money. Does anyone have any ideas about buisnesses that would be able to contribute to our cause?

We actually really want a raffle item...like an iPod or something to raffle off. Does anyone have any connections with buisnesses/coorporations/peopl... that would like to donate something to us for free to raffle off?

I can't afford to get not one gift for my girls this Christmas due to my separation from my husband, and I lost my job due to domestic violence.
