I would like to spend some time this summer volunteering somewhere in Latin America, especially Central America. I'm a English & Spanish teacher currently working in NJ. I'm looking for a volunteering program to join. I'm not looking into making money with that, but I can't afford to pay everything out of my pocket either, if you know what I mean. Is there any program that covers all or part of your travel and living expenses?

My husband is from Guatemala. It is his hope that you choose to go to Guatemala.He says you would not believe what conditions you will see when you go down there. Make sure to visit outside the city in places like Totonicapan and Quetzaltenango, or Solola. Even some remote jungle areas. But be prepared because many of them speak different language than spanish. My husband speaks a native language called Q'uiche, and I do not understand a bit of it.
