If it's not free than how much is it? I don't even know how to set up a website but I need one for a fund raising. Can somebody help? Please!!!! I'm so excited to think that I can ask any question.
This fund raising is for my birth place (South Pacific) where there's no play grounds, no public library, no insurance of any kind, and the list goes on. Help please!

First you need to do the paperwork make it legal so ppl can donate money, if you want to achieve anything big just asking your friend and family(ppl who trust you) wont do....to ask ppl on larger scale make sure you are legal and so ppl can trust you... you need get web designer local would be better ask a friend or someone you know for help. I dunno of anyone who would do a free web page for you, so that you gotta work on your own colleagues neighbour anyone who is halfway tech savvy could help you get started.
good luck

You can do it either way, but here are a couple of things to consider: 1) If I buy your art by sending you money, I have to trust that you are going to donate it. If I don't know you, it might make me reluctant to buy your art. If I make a payment directly to the charity, I know that they will get it. So it might be worth making an arrangement with the charity if they can do that. 2) I am not an expert on this area of tax law, but if we are talking about a lot of money, there could be tax consequences if you take the money and then donate it. Your deduction is generally limited to half of your income, and that is assuming you itemize. So if you sell $100,000 of art and donate all $100,000 to qualified charities, I believe you would have to pay taxes on $50,000 even though you have not kept any money. If your customers donated the money directly to the charities, you would not be responsible for the taxes. One other note: eBay has a program by which you can list an item and agree to give a specified percentage to one of their listed charities. The donation is then deducted from your proceeds. The catch: eBay takes 20% for this service, plus your regular eBay and PayPal fees (about 15%). Good luck and thanks for doing a good thing.

If your non-profit organization is listed and recognized/registered and legitimate then all you need is the skill and capacity to open a website. So, it is free in a sense and becessary on the other.
