Well, im a highschool student, and have organized a student protest march in D.C. Now, in order to do this, we kind of, you know need money. Does anyone have any ideas about buisnesses that would be able to contribute to our cause?

We actually really want a raffle item...like an iPod or something to raffle off. Does anyone have any connections with buisnesses/coorporations/peopl... that would like to donate something to us for free to raffle off?

Any suggestions would be good too...THANKS!! oh yeaaa....We're protesting the lack of action by the US government against the sudanese governments corrupt activities in darfur...our alternative is to donate our proceeds to the food crisis there

I belong to an organization that does this a lot so we can put on seminars. We just call or go into businesses and ask tell them what we are doing and ask if they have anything they could donate for a raffle item. If they do, we mention them in our flyer. You will find most places will donate something.

Good luck with your fundraiser.

You'd be surprised to hear not every kid your age has an Ipod, but it is a good idea to offer any electronics as a raffle prize. It's always a popular draw even if it seems everybody has one, who wouldn't mind having two? The Nintendo DS ( with Brain Age) would definitely get the teachers and or parents interested and Will boost your sales of raffle tickets beyond the student body. Especially now with x-mas coming up, you just can't go wrong with electronics. Good Luck to you!

Ask you local theatre and performance groups, plus local sports teams, for ticket donations. They'll usually give them to you. Optomestrists might donate luxury-brand sunglasses, too.
You can also do a 50-50 raffle, which means that people buy a raffle ticket and if they win, they get half the proceeds and you get the other half. That works well.
