I saw this homeless lady on the street. It was very cold outside. Almost freezing and I worried that she could freeze to death outside. There are no shelters close by and so I offered to take her home and put her in one of my guest bedrooms. She refused. I then thought she may be afraid and I offered to buy her something hot to eat. There was a Mexican restaurant close by and thought she might enjoy a good meal. She refused. I offered her money and she refused that too. I am confused about this because I really wanted to help her. I left her my name and number and told her if she needed food or a place to stay I would help her if she changed her mind. I am up thinking about her and wondering if she is OK. What else could I do for her? Does anyone have any other ideas? I think she is mentally ill. Why would the government allow people like her out on the street?She really should be in a hospital.God bless her!

Is it possible to locate an orphanage and like help around with the kids [ read to them, play,....anything...] . Can I call and ask if I can do community work there??? Hi. I recentally took leave of abscence from my grad. program until I can move to the town where it is held. As an undergrad I had multiple opportunties to engage in volunteer work and I loved it! Now i'm applying for jobs and at home all day. I need a project! Hopefully something I can do mostly from home. I found that many people answered Clay Aiken's question about helping children, but what about helping w/ chidren. I just thought why American dont want to help w/ people in developing countries??
My only thought 4 asking the question is because AMERICA IS 1 THE RICHEST PLACE IN THE WORLD!!!!

Let's face it, we can not depend on the older generation for answers. Look how screwed up our society is. Many problems stem back as far as the mid 60's. A bunch of the young people I have talked to and or worked with have some great ideas. Get the old people out of office!!!
