1. You should be aware of what orphanages there are, and which you would like to support. There are a number run by small independent, Christian ministries. Here are a few of them, and they have details about donating.

a) Sacred Portion Children's Outreach
http://www.sacredportion.org/
b) Children's Shelter of Cebu
http://www.cscshelter.org/
c) House of Joy Orphanage, San Isidro

d) Bahay Kalinga (House of Love) Orphanage, Mindoro

e) Philippine Vision / Kids Need Love Ministry, Cebu

f) Subic Bay Children's Home

2. Don't give until you are sure that they money will be spent how you want. Here's one organisation, called Mount Zion Orphanages Inc., that is listed at www.orphanage.org. However it is just a husband and wife team, whose fundraising has been disastrous so far, their first orphanage has not even been built yet, and it is not clear if they have sufficient funds to proceed with developing donated land - so it is just an unrealised ambition.

3. If you bother to search, you will probably find other orphanages online, if you wish - that's all I did.
