A massive comet on a colision course with Earth has been discovered. It's impact 20 months from now is sure to be an extinction-level event, possibly ending all life on the planet. The leaders of your religion state in no uncertain terms that they believe the comet is a divine measure of God's judgment and that the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.

Shortly thereafter, a well-known scientist (an atheist, for argument's sake) reveals a plan that has a very good chance to alter the comet's course. Work on the project begins at a frantic pace.

Would you choose to have the comet hit the Earth and usher in the kingdom of Heaven as your religious leaders have predicted or would you hope that the scientist's project succeeds even if it contradicts what your religion is professing?

I wear hijab, and I'm worried about keeping my hair nice. I dont want my hair to become ruined! My future husband, whoever he may be, wont like that =p
i try not to put on hijab when my hair is damp, because thats supposed to be bad for it...but do you have any other do's and donts? I wear it in a bun under my scarf.
I have to wash my hair everyday or else it gets kinda greasy and my hair is curly. (just to give you an idea of what type of hair i have, lol)

I myself feel horrible about all the bad things in this world. I feel like crying sometimes just thinking of people who have abortions, or those who cheat on husbands/wives, people that are murdered for various reasons, etc. It just saddens me all the terrible things in the world. I wish I could do even more to make it stop. I know all I can do is pray and stand up for what I believe and be a light by living my life as close to what God would want me to live like as possible.

What are your thoughts on this?

*just so others know, I'm not perfect and do not claim to be and I am not saying I'm any better than anyone else, I just feel horrible that bad things happen. I feel bad that people starve, have to walk barefoot on the street, etc.*

I am writing my son's baptism invitations and I am looking for a nice line from the Bible to put on them.

I found this one I like: “I have held thee in the palm of my hand” Isaiah 51:16

Any other ones you like?
Thank you!

even I as a Muslim can recognize the general spirit of CHRISTmas. It's about family and spending time together. Many reunite and forgive at this time. Surely it can't be bad even if it is commercialized. If something is commercialized, why can't we see it as being a benefit for the economy? Nobody is getting harmed in it, and God knows the true intentions of those who do celebrate it. I don't celebrate it in the Christian sense, but I do enjoy the lights and decorations that are all around my city.

Is enjoying this holiday so bad to some? A day off for those who work is a day off, why not just enjoy it and do whatever you want to do? And why be PC about it?

This Muslim, in an effort to bring all people together as a united front against terrorism, hatred and intolerance, wishes all Christians a Merry Christmas.

Is there any problem with that?

It came out several years ago, starred Robin Williams (not a funny film), and took place in the afterlife. I was wondering what people thought of the writer's take on the afterlife. I found it most agreeable.

my mother is the hardest woman to buy Christmas for.
She has every piece of jewlery ever made so we cant get her that.
She is a florist so we cant get her any type of flowers or floral decoration.
Shes very picky so we dont buy her clothes.
I dislike buying girft cards for her because its something small and she hardly ever gets out. So, i was thinking i might buy her a large basket and fill it will all types of things. Such as: maybe body stuff, maybe a set of fashion earrings, a simple shirt, pajama set, candies, a nice wallet, candle stuff, etc,
Is this ok?
If so, what else could i fill the basket with?
thanks!

I think that if people like me were killed, and those worse off would make the world better. There some people who would be better off dead. Without contributing to society, people are just selfish to please themselves. I think the contribution must be equal between happiness with yourself and how happy you make other people. I know that the de-value-ization of human life is unfortunate but wouldn't everything be better? What good perspective or help do less fortunate people offer. Instead of just saying unfortunate I would rather say those who don't even have much potential, they exist because they do but what for? Do they mean anything?
