Hi. I have a 12 year old and a 7 year old. We always wake up and first open presents. Then we have a breakfast/brunch (we make gingerbread pancakes most years, the recipe can be found online). We then watch Christmas movies together, like "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". Later when it starts to get dark we go for a drive and look at Christmas lights. Then we go back home and talk about the fun that we had.
(We also have a tradition of buying one gift a piece for underprivilaged children, because I want them to realize that they are lucky to be given the blessings that they have)

A trip to the beach, a park or something outdoors. Bundle up if its cold. The kids are so wound up, that a refreshing walk outside is always a good way to relax. Have hot cider or cocoa ready for when you get home.

We put in a christmas movie.. usually 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' and we set up a arts and crafts play are. We cut cristmas trees from construction paper and provides tons of things to decorate the trees with. We also buy noise makers for New Years and Plain cone shaped hats and allow them to decorate them themselves. We set up a gated play area for the infants and but age appropritae toys in it for them to play with. It is rather fun and eventful!

Go caroling to your neighbor's houses. If you're too shy for that, carol among yourselves, and dance like ballet stars. Put on a Christmas show!

Have them rip up the old gift wrap and then use the pieces to glue onto something like a big box and let them play in the big box like its Santa's sleigh.
