birthdays and Christmas etc because that keeps them from associating with people from different beliefs ? I see this matter as a control issue. How about you?

Is there anything else about him other than what is in the Bible? There is so little about him and I find him interesting. If any Catholics read this I read that he was supposed to have gotten saved and been baptized by Peter and John. Do you guys believe this to be true?

I see it all the time "You don't believe in anything" or "Atheists believe in nothing." I'm atheist and I happen to believe in many things... It's just that none of them happen to be god.

It seems to me like many people confuse atheism with nihilism, Lebowski.

I guess we know what film I'm talking about *drink*

I heard this on the news, and then found it in Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Golden_Compass_(film)

"Several key themes of the novels, the rejection of organized religion and the abuse of power in a fictionalized Catholic Church, were diluted in the adaptation. Director Weitz said "in the books the Magisterium is a version of the Catholic Church gone wildly astray from its roots" but that the organization portrayed in his film would not directly match that of Pullman's books. Instead, the Magisterium will represent all dogmatic organizations."

So if I have this right, the film adaptation is "milder" than the books. I'm thinking that it would be a good idea to read the books first, then see the film and compare them. Would you agree?

A friend of mine had been bitching his head off because he cant find a good paying job. He was just offered $60 K a year plus free housing ! He is currently working for less than $36K a year. Is he happy about it? Hell no, he has had one long pity party about it, saying it probably wont work out, he is sure the people he has to work with will be jerks, he doesnt think he will like living there, in fact he is sure he will hate it --

He has a very sweet and loving wife, she said to him "please look at the positive side, this could and will probably be just what you have been wishing for ! We can get back on our feet financially, we will all be together, you, me and the kids. I am sure you will make some nice new friends, and its what you wanted in terms of the job you will be doing - I think its a wonderful opportunity and we should be thanking God, I am SO happy for you! You deserve it" or words to that effect.

What did he say? Stop your bloody nagging & constantly bashing at me

Jesus called 12 men and spent every day with them for about three years. 11 of them finally came to a place in their lives where they realized they could do nothing without him. Judas still had other plans of his own and we know how that ended. Have you came to that place yet where God calls all the shots or do you still have your own agenda?

I have post my questions here, i have received positive and negative comments about Bible and God. And now I have proven this statement in the Bible. Please read below.

Mark 4:11

11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables

Now i have proven that the Bible is true!!!

This "atom" idea is flawed for these reasons:

- Atom theory is only a theory. It is not necessarily true

- Even these so-called atomist "scientists" will admit that atomism is only a theory

- No one has actually ever seen an atom

- The existance of atoms disprove the existance of God (it was not mentioned in the Bible, so it's wrong)

- These atomists can't even make up their mind about what the atom looks like!

Well our real estate broker calls me at home friday 5pm (end of the week and day) he tells me he has to get something off his chest. He tells me that my wife and I are not invited to the year end holiday party, because then he would have to invite all the part timers. My wife had took it for granted that we were both invited because the party was mentioned at a meeting by the broker at a meeting she attended.
My wife and I add up to 1 full time real estate agent, and have participated in bringing in listings and sales for him this year. We both started in the begining of 2007 with his office, we are not as some of his other agents who don't participate whatsoever. As an agent you are paid on sales commissions, so you can be a no timer to full timer and anywhere in between.
What should we say to him ? because now I feel it is all on my chest.....I feel like i am not part of the team.

I read in Matthew 2:23 that it was SPOKEN BY THE PROPHETS that "He [Jesus] shall be called a Nazarene." Can you find this in any other writing that existed prior to 4 BCE?

alrite so long story short my "best friend" decided to tell his whole religion class that I was bisexual. Not only did the word about me being bi get around but this rumor starter Kate switched it around saying i was a lesbian. Now in the girls locker room if i look up im automatically "checking them out" if i hug my female friends im a lez. At first I let it go but , im not so sure about what to do. I hate it bad enough people think im strange but now im compeletly singled out. How do I handle this? Do I just ignore it and let it blow over, or talk to a higher authority? I am so confused help please

Okay..I had this up on my mind, and thought about it.

Now each religion teaches things like being good to one another, loving your loved ones, tolerance, and all that good stuff. Even if you don't have a religion, like atheists, arent those still the basic ethics of life? There are 6 Billion (6,000,000,000) people on this planet. You Can't make/force all 6 billion believe in the same thing you do right? Forcing people to believe in something, is no better than what the Fascists did.

Now anywhere i go from a Christian its "if you don't believe in god, you will go to hell". First of all, thats ignorant. Second, if the person you are saying this doesn't believe in god in the first place, why bother threatening him/her with Hell? - (Which is another thing he/she doesn't believe in"

From an atheist, its always "mumbo jumbo, fairy tale". That's also ignorant to where both parties are insulting one's belief.

I think religion should be between God and You
