I know how you feel, you must be an old soul... If you believe in that stuff.. I do..
I found that working where the people were older then myself, I met people who were interested in things I was interested in. It does get better.. My best friends are in their 40's and I'm in my 20's...

Wow, I feel the same way. I'm more mature than my older brother (and he's almost 20) Try finding friends in more serious places that you enjoy (house of worship, community center or anything you enjoy) If not, then...just keep looking for friends. Maybe join a club or something.

i experienced something very similar to you, about a year ago. I eventually found another friend who was an "outsider", who had the same ideals, and was capable of mature conversations. Id recommend to not look for popular friends, because most are so superficial. look for the quiet kids who are intellegent, because they are more likely to be mature. btw, im 16 also

I think there is a big difference between "doing stupid stuff" and "being mature." I know plenty of 'mature' people who do drugs and sleep with people they barely know.
I think maturity is more related to attitude. Sleeping with people you barely know is simply dangerous and irresponsible. But immature? I don't think so. Illegal drugs, legal drugs, alcohol, food, video games... people can be addicted to all these things or they can use all of them with responsibility and moderation; not defining factors of maturity.
Look at the Ocean's movies. Big-time criminals, but many of the fictitious characters were mature enough for us to respect them.
So, I'm on my soapbox here because I think you are confusing maturity with taste. So you don't like being a slut or a druggie. Your tastes differ from mainstream teenage America. You're looking for friends with tastes similar to yours- your tastes are in the minority so it's going to take extra-hard looking in order to find them!
If you want to make friends who are like you, I'd say focus more on what you LIKE rather than what you don't like. Find groups of people who do what you like to do. Reading, writing, arguing, computers, cooking, dancing... whatever. You might have better luck looking in a church setting but, unfortunately, many kids are forced to go to church by their parents and are still interested in drugs and sex...

Most kids don't do drugs. You might have the impression that everyone does it, but statistics show that they don't. It sounds like you just haven't met the right kids yet. Why don't you get involved in clubs, teams, or volunteer organizations that interest you? You'll be sure to meet other people there who share your interests.

Try to get new friends. Surely you're not the only mature person around.
High school can be very frustrating socially. If you go onto college after you graduate, things may be easier socially.

In high school, I was just the same...so I looked for friends that were a bit older or really smart....by the time I was a senior most of my friends had graduated...it's tough, but just hang in there.

You aren't alone - you only think you are. Stop looking to the popular kids for friendship and look for the outsiders. You'll find people like you and when you are outsiders together - you become the insiders.

Find some good friends..
I know how it is.
Maybe someday they will all stop being such losers.
