Well our real estate broker calls me at home friday 5pm (end of the week and day) he tells me he has to get something off his chest. He tells me that my wife and I are not invited to the year end holiday party, because then he would have to invite all the part timers. My wife had took it for granted that we were both invited because the party was mentioned at a meeting by the broker at a meeting she attended.
My wife and I add up to 1 full time real estate agent, and have participated in bringing in listings and sales for him this year. We both started in the begining of 2007 with his office, we are not as some of his other agents who don't participate whatsoever. As an agent you are paid on sales commissions, so you can be a no timer to full timer and anywhere in between.
What should we say to him ? because now I feel it is all on my chest.....I feel like i am not part of the team.

Show more class than him. Just say " I am saddened that I will not be at the party. I was looking forward to celebrating the holiday with my peers. But, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you." Leave it at that. Then on the night of the party you and your wife go out to dinner and have fun. Trust me you will have a much better time.

Your broker is an unmitigated idiot -- not to mince words, but what he did was utterly stupid. To call a producing agent and tell them they aren't invited to a party?!?! What did he do, take the top 10 agents and invite only them?

He has made a grave mistake and has gone a long way towards destroying any semblance of team loyalty and spirit. I strongly urge you to go looking for another office to affiliate with -- this is NOT the kind of team player you want on your team!

This broker was really rude. If you can't invite everyone in the office, you don't have an office party that you announce at the office. If this guy wanted a smaller event, he should have notified those at those at the office he wanted to attend by phoning them at home or sending an email to their private account.

merely bypass. carry an low fee bottle of wine and say as quickly as you get in " I wish we could stay somewhat longer, yet we've yet another engagement that we ought to attend..and..darn it do no longer we continuously have too plenty to do in the process the trip trips?" stay for some 0.5 hour, thank the host for her invitation and then bypass away. you would be the bigger individual in this venture. in case you have been merely invited with the aid of fact of the place you reside, then HA you confirmed them by making use of exhibiting up. additionally, in line with risk human beings on the line are no longer very spectacular considering the fact which you do no longer attend their little neighborly shin digs. the two way, by making use of making an visual attraction you will come off as a great individual.

You are swimming with sharks, he's made it clear. Guess what? If he can't buy Fritos for part-timers, he ain't running such a great business.
F- the party, you should find a competent broker who respects you.

I have to agree with Momma on this one, this is completely uncalled for and unprofessional. Team is what gets us through the day, and when the Team is lost so are we.... Look for a new office, this guy sucks!

I would say exactly what you did - you longer feel like you are part of the team. And if I was in your shoes, I would immediately be looking to work somewhere else - and I would say that too.

My advice to you is "don't get mad, get even". Find another broker to partner with, and leave this @$$hole.
