Protestants believe that they are a "reformed" religion. Faith not works, etcetera, is a purer religion, brings them closer to salvation. Luther is the champion of Protestants everywhere, and he is revered. But how can we praise a man who was so Antisemitic? He proposed taking away the property of Jews, forbidding rabbis to teach at the price of their lives, burning sacred books, burning synagouges, keeping them out of work, prohibiting travel...It seems the jumping-off point of the Nazi Regime. How can Protestant Christians overlook this flaw in their hero? If the "reformer" is flawed, how can the religions not be?

How do you distinguish between the two? Thanks.

This tragic and unbelievable experience forever changed one man's life and opened the wonders of Heaven for all to see. If you haven't read it, and even if you do not believe, read it anyway. If you have read this incredible story of death and life, I'd like to know what you thought of it. Thanks!

I was taking a practice SAT II test for Latin, and one of the questions was:

15. Timeo _ne_amicas_meas_non_videam_ hodie.
A) that I may see my friends
B) that I may not see my friends
C) not to see my friends
D) that my friends will not see me

And you had to translate the underlined part. I chose A, because for verbs of fearing ut and ne are reversed, but the answer key said the answer was B. I was wondering if someone could explain why.

IF EVER the bible is correct that there's realy a Hell, where there's a worm that dieth not and the fire is not quench and forever and ever punishment, and time comes you went in there, what will you do? nothing because its all too late. are you willing to risk your own soul just to satisfy your pride? And IF EVER you guys were correct, no big deal because there's no Hell right? don't tell me you got your own representation of Hell that condems and punish all does person who died believing on God, if none, well that's a good news for me because I got nothing to loose IF EVER you guys were correct. If you'll tell me that I'm missing to do the most out of my life you're wrong so don't give me that, because I'm the happiest person alive on the day I receive Jesus as my Lord and personal Savior, there's a portion of my heart that only Jesus can satisfy, not even my wife, my family, my closest friend and money can filled up. I feel like I'm a new person. why not try Christianity,

If you stand very still, in the turmoil of life,
and quiet yourself, does an answer come out of nowhere?

Do you just wait for that still small voice, from within you, to be led down the quiet pathways of wisdom?

Is that your sub-conscious mind, or your conscience?!?

Could God speak to you that way, in a still, small voice; and bring you peace that surpasses understanding, and wise spiritual enlightenment???

Didn't God speak to a prophet in the bible that way?

The prophet coulded not find Him in the whirwind. But he found God's leading within the stillness! Right?

Does that ever happen to you???

So we have a small house... nowhere to put a Christmas tree. It's just my husband and I here, and I want some kind of Christmas tree. He doesn't want to spend any money on a small one. Would you rather print one out and tape it to the wall, go without, or do you have any other creative ideas? Thanks in advance.

Do you honestly believe they were all making it up and nobody challenged them on it? The Jews who believed in Jesus were ostracized from their communities and hunted down. Christians were heavily persecuted by the Roman emprire for the first 300 years after Christ's death...

But you think people just said "oh ok, sign me up! I guess I'll die for your lies as well! Yay!"

When someone at work or university says stuff about Muslims and how they are all bad, I am the first one to defend them. How can you judge a whole race by a few bad people.
But
Coming here on Y!A my experience with Muslims (and Islam) is that they are full of so much hatred towards people that are not followers of Islam. I am yet to read any nice comments.
I read many derogatory comments about people in the western world with the assuption that we are all Christian.
I really want to read some nice comments by people of Islam.

Unfortunatly I haven't had the oppurtunity to interact with anyone with beliefs in Islam the only interaction I get is through Y!A and my experience isn't very nice. I would like that to change.
Any comments?

I would like to decorate for Christmas outside but I don't have any electrical outlets outside to put up lights and things like that. Do you have any ideas on other ways that I could make my place look festive? I do have some bushes and a porch that I could spruce up, but without lights I need different ideas. Thanks!
