Please keep in mind you will have to apply the same standard of evidence to all other historical personages of Jesus's era.

I believe that Jesus may have existed... but i do not believe that he was what he said he was, or even said what people believe he was

I don't need proof of his existence. I have no doubt a man bearing that name lived....and he was a rebel who caused a great rift in the status quo. He showed a different point of view and changed the culture of his times. He ticked off the establishment and eventually was arrested, tried and executed.

Many, many others throughout history have done the same thing; Alexander the Great, Catherine of Russia, Atilla the Hun......

I simply don't accept nor believe he - or they - were divine....that there is some mystical god thingie involved.

His life was recorded by men who had little knowledge of the world outside their small area.....they had no knowledge of the natural world, politics. They were a persecuted people who were brought to their feet by a leader with charisma and strength. (Martin Luther King did the same thing - he's not divine either). The authors simply attributed much of naturally occuring events to some mystical, supernatural god to help explain what they themselves could not.

How about Jesus returning to earth riding on a White Horse followed by the Armies of Heaven and killing all the Arabs and others, including a 200 million man army from the east, who stand poised to make war against Israel?

The blood would flow to a depth of about 5 feet.

It would take seven months to bury the dead.

It would have taken longer but the birds of the air feasted on their flesh which made the job of burying the dead a bit easier.

Do you think that would do it?

The Bible and history say that Jesus exists. Faith is the only thing that can be sure of His continuing existence. God's grace is what to hang onto. It is the only thing in life that is certain. Rejection of God, Jesus, is a sure way to go to hell. Not a pleasant thought. And yes, hell is real, as is heaven. Believe it!!!

Why do you continue on this quest? Didn't Jesus say in his parable about the rich man and Lazarus, that they would not believe even if one rose from the grave?

There are those who would not believe in Jesus even if they met him in person. They would still have some reason to disbelieve.

You cannot convince people that Jesus is real and that he is God. Only the Holy Spirit can do that and only in people who are seeking the truth, not in people who are only interested in themselves.

The Case For Christ, by Lee Strobel, investigative journalist who started out as a non-believer and after his hard thinking and refusal to accept easy answers verified that this guy actually LIVED and went through exactly what was said in that book (the bible)

I believe he existed. There is notation by a Roman scribe that recorded the fact that man named Jesus was executed. It is the only contemporary writing I know of. Outside of the bible, there are no confirmations regarding his miracles. None of it can be confirmed. Its just a medieval myth.

The Red Sox winning the World Series again is good enough for me.

Multiple contemporary sources. You know, like a Roman record of his trial. They did record those sort of things.

You have none. Even the Bible is from several decades later.

I accept my existence for eternity.

This is what you haven't done. You doubt your living soul.

I have never doubted my existence. I did doubt what people had told me. I still doubt the people who do not know truth. They do not trust their own beliefs. We do not trust their lies because we know better.

There are quite a few valid sources that mention him.

He did exist, but only as a man who wanted to engender change.

No one ( I hope) is contesting that he existed.
