You've been given eyes to see.
...ears to hear.
If all your life, you've been given protection by the Father, rock music can't harm you.
When He's ready, He'll take the earplugs out and let you experience a true melodious testimony to His greatness.

Sure... you engage with the music and connect with the lyrics - many of which are not life giving and are negative to harmful.
"I Wanna Hold Your Hand" ...ok, "Stranglehold" ... no.
And their is a whole social aspect to tie into and identify with - such as Speed Metal, Korn/Ozzy that creates a class of kids and just creates and adds to darkness.
Many kids don't even see the power of how the music and the culture with it drags them down...

Hendrix always had that effect on me if I was alone and wearing cans. Just chilled completely and lost in the music.

Not if you have a strong, questioning and independent mind. Think for yourself, don't follow fashion or trends.
Alice Cooper is the Trickster God and Melissa Etheridge the goddess in my rock n roll world.

Yeah, I think aesthetic experiences can touch upon human meanings in ways other, any other, experiences cannot. It is like being in love. Can anyone but your partner make you feel the way they do?

Your comparing apples to oranges, no where in my experiences have I heard "thou shall not listen to rock", I enjoy rock as I do enjoy the life God has given me.
