When someone at work or university says stuff about Muslims and how they are all bad, I am the first one to defend them. How can you judge a whole race by a few bad people.
But
Coming here on Y!A my experience with Muslims (and Islam) is that they are full of so much hatred towards people that are not followers of Islam. I am yet to read any nice comments.
I read many derogatory comments about people in the western world with the assuption that we are all Christian.
I really want to read some nice comments by people of Islam.

Unfortunatly I haven't had the oppurtunity to interact with anyone with beliefs in Islam the only interaction I get is through Y!A and my experience isn't very nice. I would like that to change.
Any comments?

If you want to interact with real Muslims and not the ones on Yahoo Answers then look up Mosques in your city and call the Imam to ask if you can come in to learn about Islam and possibly meet some real Muslim women. You will get better knowledge this way about Islam and a culture that is different then your own.

I saw one question earlier today: "Who's smarter, Muhammad the teddy bear or Muslims?" and I clicked and anticipated the asker getting ripped to shreds. But the majority were amused and said the teddy bear or whatever.

I don't have a problem with the anger they feel. When people make the (ridiculous) generalization that all atheists have no morals, I'm a little offended, but I understand that that is not a common feeling among intelligent Christians. But very few people took the time to correct the aforementioned question in defense of Islam.

If you're looking for any self respecting Muslim to play "patty cake," you'll have to wait until the "cows come home," unless the 9 virgins get there first.

What I'm saying is, that the Muslim has a different way of looking at things than the "softies" that want to please everybody and be nice. "Muslims" play a different ball game. I'm not speaking of the Spiritual ones.

But then again, what do I know?

I am not Muslim but I had a friend who is. He once said that he was upset that many people have a bad impression of muslims because the only time you hear about them is if they're blowing or shooting something up. He said that's not being muslim because by definition a Muslim means a person of peace & how can those people call themselves Muslim if they're so violent? He also said a jihad means a holy struggle but the radicals use that as an excuse for a "holy'" war.

Obviously your not looking hard enough.

In my two or so years here i have met wonderful Muslims, and they have been nothing but nice to me (Even though I'm a pagan) the greatest of these Muslims being "Proud Muslimah, Beautiful Islam" to my knowledge she is no longer around. she was complaining about all the hatred here and said she was leaving.

What a pity! I am Muslim (a convert) but I am friendly and tolerant of others. Not all Muslims are nasty. Some of the friendliest I've met are within the Progressive and / or Sufi communities.

I hope you have better luck with finding nice Muslims!

Tolerance does not mean acceptable.

Their religion is not acceptable. How much evidence do you need? The hatred you speak of flows both ways. Wise up or be deceived. Are you this tolerant of the KKK? They are nice people too.

I think not !!!
