As a senior, I have looked at the site, and it is ubelievable that every time this site gets tons of answers for one question.

1) What do you think is the reason?
2) Do you think most of the participants are seniors?

Is there a spiritual Jerusalem?

Heb 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Heb 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

Hispanics should show some appreciation for what the anglo-american accomplished in landing in America and carveing out a culture and society from nothing. they fought indians and starvation and many were killed and massacred by indians but they persevered and established one of the greatest countries in the world. What happened to your plan in Mexico?

Do you have to be a good person to go to heaven? I was with my friends in the mall and a man stopped us and asked us why we would go to heaven. I said that I thought I was a good person. It is a given that I was a Christian, so doesn't being a good person have anything to do with it? Or do you just have to believe in Jesus Christ as your savior? I am a Catholic by the way. =)

A very popular scotsman dies in glasgow and his old widow wishes to tell all his friends at once so she goes to the newspaper and says
"I'd like tae place an obituary fur ma late husband" The man at the desk says "OK, how much money dae ye have?"
The old woman replies "£5" to which the man says "You wont get many words for that but write something and we'll see if it's ok" so the old woman writes something and hands it over the counter and the man reads "Peter Reid, fae Parkheid, deid"
He feels guilty at the abruptness of the statement and encourages the old woman to write a few more things. The old woman ponders and then adds a few more words and hand the paper over the counter again. The man then reads "Peter Reid, fae Parkheid deid. Ford Escort for sale"

Its part of my heritage I guess to be militant. My direct ancestors on my dad's side fought in the American Revolution, War of 1812, Civil War (both sides), World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam War (my uncle was a helicopter pilot there and got shot in the head. Amazingly the helmet stopped the bullet). I tried getting in the Army, Navy and Marines so I could go to Iraq (particularly after England was bombed) but I am legally blind so they rejected me. My 4th great grandpa on my mom's side, Little Crow, had a war against the US and was murdered and then brutally skinned and cut apart in the city square..... So I have a militant spirit I guess

Can't I like demand to be deported or something? I renounced my pledge of allegience and so I would rather move to another country before I fully take up arms against the country. I'd like to go to Austria I think. But point to any country on the map besides the US and I'd gladly move there.

Is this valuable advice or is it just non-sense?

whatever things are true, whatever things are of serious concern, whatever things are righteous, whatever things are chaste, whatever things are lovable, whatever things are well spoken of, whatever virtue there is and whatever praiseworthy thing there is, continue considering these things.

Again, answer honesty, strictly spiritual question.

Would you consider this good advice to live by? Explain.
How would you apply this to your daily life?
How does this affect you as a person?
How do you think people who do practice such consideration behave?
What are some of the things we should consider, that you could bring to our attention?

My husband just got into management a couple of months ago. My husband found out that it is customary for each manager to get the other managers a present. No gift cards, baskets, etc. It has to be a real present that each manager would like. There are 5 other managers, 3 men and 2 women. We are a young couple with a baby and Christmas was going to be a stretch this year without adding extra gifts. Any ideas for presents that would be nice, but not too expensive?

Why do you think we have to have a purpose in life? I was answering a question like many others on this forum "what is our purpose in life?" and I happened to glance over at my dog.

Now he's a good dog, and I indeed have a purpose for him: he's our "first alert" alarm system (woe be unto any bird who poops within 2 blocks, they will hear his wrath for minutes), he's a good companion and eater of table scraps. I know from experience that any stranger who comes onto his marked territory is subject to his bared teeth, especially if his girls (my daughters) are nearby.

But HE doesn't have a purpose, he just goes along and is a dog. He does doggy things. Why do we have to know our purpose but animals don't? What sets us apart?

It seems free will is what Christians use as an excuse for people staying out of heaven - the hell bound choose not to accept Jesus so he wont take you cause it would be a violation of your free will if he did.
Why wouldn't he just exercise the same Godly rights in our death as he does in our birth and take us all home?

I have a great family of 4 and a three year old granddaughter. This year has been very difficult for us financialy. My wife is disabled and the money I make on my job berely pays the bills. We always have had a good Christmas especialy for our granddaughter. Christmas is a very special time for our family and even though our gifts were few, it always was a grand time of year. But this year at this point I can't even afford to pay our electric bill to enjoy all the lights we are accustom to0 so we only have our tree lit. As for gifts I will probably try to make things to give away but the kids are tough to get for with limited funds. Is there any charities out there that could help? I am not one to take charity at all and this is difficult for me to ask. But I'm up against the wall here and I want my kids to have a grand Christmas. Especialy our grandchild and my wife since she feels awfull about her situation and not being able to help. Thank you for listening.
